Kicking
« on: January 04, 2013, 08:12:51 AM »
Since everyone else made a thread.

Why didn't we kick the ball the eff out of the end zone like we have done every rough ridin' game?  Why? Surely Cantele had the leg strength, right?  Maybe I'm the bad person. FYAC or FYSS

I don't think we have had a kicker with a NFL leg since Gramatica.

shut the eff up Brad, sorry but I've been holding that back.  Since my short time on this board I have come to the conclusion that you provide no insight, no help, no knowledge, just stupid rough ridin' filth that either you gleam off of other posters or stupid crap you come up with on your own.

no one got it close to the endzone, air must have been heavy in there or something.

While we are discussing the horrible special teams coach, Sean Snyder, I'd like to propose that we call him the "kicker coach," and not the special team coach.

That's really all he knows, isn't it?

No, he knows punting. He doesn't know a god damned thing about placekicking.

Apparently Sean doesn't know this though because we did not do it a single time last night.

surely he isn't delusional enough to think we could've contained Thomas, although the evidence suggests otherwise.

We've been doing this for the past 2 years, try to kick it to the 5 in the corner.  Cantele talked about it last year. This is the same strategy that has led us to stopping the returner at the 15 multiple times. It backfired on us when we kicked it to Thomas. Sean should have thought, "they have D'Anthony Thomas, we should probably just boot it into the endzone and just let them start at the 25."
I got a guy on the other line about some white walls

I really wish I had the power to lock Sean in a room with a projector and play this on a loop

I mean for eff's sake it doesn't take rocket surgery to figure this one out.

did anyone else notice who was doing the coaching to the team as they were heading out to the field for the initial series?

pro-tip:  bill didn't say a word.

Would not have cared if we kicked it out of bounds every damn time, no difference between 25 and 35 for oregon

As shitty as our kick coverage was (and as good as Thomas is at returning), we should have just gone for the onside kick every time

There is actually a pretty big difference because we made them go 3 and out a few times and the field position is pretty important to our offense.
