I didn't realize we completely lost Underdog to GPC. Doesn't feel great.
He's a oscar supporter. He didn't feel comfortable here with all the oscar bashing, I presume. I wish he'd come back too.
I mean, I think he'd do more good over here...if he could stomach the animosity for oscar. I should also say that I am one of the one's he probably takes issue with, since I am no fan of oscar.
he always said he was a k-state supporter, which in the minds of some of the more fervent #BiD's equates to the same thing as being a weber supporter. in other words, i think he was alienated here because i think his position aligned with CC's so he took his ball and went home.
I spoke with him a couple times about it. It wasn't that he was a Weber supporter, it was that every time he posted something he felt was positive, people would crush it with negativity, especially on recruiting news. Said it made it not fun, and therefore not worth the time.
I can relate.
Some of us simply like to talk K-State basketball in spite of how disappointed we are with the coach and the hire. I get the #burnitdown mantra, but this has become a #burnitdown board and its very difficult to have any tangible basketball discussion before it turns into another "oscar Weber sucks" thread.
I'm not going anywhere, but I haven't posted about K-State basketball nearly as much and probably won't.
In a couple of years, people are going to miss the passion, even the #BiD passion, that accompanied our basketball team from 2006-2012. Getting excited because of mystery recruits from the Ivory Coast, #1 Hoop Scoop recruiting classes, and getting snubbed by the NIT is ok, but it's not really passion. As long as there is passion, there is hope, because it means there are people that still care enough, and think it may pay off, to keep trying to keep expectations high.
