We just take in money, spend little, and still put out a quality brand. We are the American Dream.

This is why John Currie will remain at K-State for as long as he wants. Kind of a catch 22.

We're in a very bizarre situation in which we have an amazing coach that no one wants (or at least, everyone knows they can't have). Penn State was in the same situation with JoePa. Very great way to not have to give you coaches consistent raises and extentions to keep them around.

Does this count as some kind of ATM style national championship?

Guys, this is the same reason we will suck after Bill.  Currie/Shultz will point to this as a reason you don't have to spend money to be successful.  So they won't spend the money, and we will Paul Rhoads it up with some sucker who is willing to try hard for little money and we will get our 3 conf wins per year.

Let's hope that LHCBS's only purposes in life right now are 1) winning football and 2) "outlasting" Currie.

KSU and Currie are the David Glass and Dayton Moore's of the world who have stumbled upon a gold mine within an oil well. Once HCBS leaves, we are all effed because they won't spend any money and think the results will be guaranteed.

Nice to be on Forbes though, should send a link to any and all recruits.

No.  Don't want kids thinking we are cheap.  just send them all a scrap book of our players holding trophies and getting rings and crap.

Our fan base would never allow this.  If we get a sucky coach, we'll fire him along with the admin.; just like when Prince was fired.  Remember, the talking point by the media was that we didn't give Prince a chance.

Currie just made a huge investment with the press box because he knows it will pay off. He will do the same thing with a football coach and spend the money if he knows we will win.

We hired Bryce Wefald or whatever because basketball doesn't make any money and because there wasn't a high level coach available that was worth the investment.

I fully believe Currie will bust his ass to make a good football hire, if he gets to.  His resume currently sucks, it reads "raised lots of money for an overdue project, ran off best basketball coach in 30 years, pissed fans off with indefensible hire"

You guys give him to much credit. Wanting to do something and actually doing it are two separate things.

IMHO, I think this will make or break his career.  I agreed fully with LSOC, because this is his ticket out of here.
