Yes they poached basically every decent recruiting person from rivals.  They are the most legit rating service operating imo.

What is it now? Rivals, 247, espn, this one, etc. People seem to pick and choose which one works out for their agenda. oscar was recruiting these type of guys the past 5 years. They’re not “dudes” however. Just guys we’ll wait and see with. That’s all.

I agree this is the type of recruit we typically got with oscar.  On3 really does have the most robust scouting dept now imo, rivals is gutted.

They didn't finish last and with 3 weeks to play, they were playing for an at large, even after all their covid crap early on. That's great if you want to accept mediocre recruiting, but I thought we were elevating here.

Massoud isn't clearly better than the guys we're bringing in.  If we judged Nowell by the same standard we're judging these guys (before he stepped foot on campus), he wasn't much better than these guys either.  Also, part of the reason why we need all these rough ridin' transfers is that the roster was hot garbage last year outside of Nowell, Smith, and Pack. 

But, by all means, let's crap on Tang for not fixing 4-5 years of roster mismanagement in 4-5 weeks.

Nowell was a bucket machine before transferring here and had success in the tourney. We knew he was a good transfer:

Ish was a 4 star recruit like the guy we just got from LSU and had more success before he stopped here than the dude from LSU:

Nowell was the only true PG on our roster. 

None of this is meant as a dig on Nowell because he is really good.  oscar thinking the team was better without our only PG, and a top 3 player on the team, starting is mindblowing.

Colbert Tomlins and Carter is on par with Nowell, Massoud and Smith.  If that’s all the better talent we end up with we are going to be finishing closer to the bottom than the top again.

I also think oscar would have been toasted with this new NIL/transfer portal development this offseason. It's not fair for Tang to walk into it right away, with a shitty donor base. I'm just trying to be objective here.
