The main reason I don't like Topeka is that it doesn't have an identity. If I had to pick one, it would be chain restaurants, and I hate chain restaurants.

fair enough, but personally i'd rather live somewhere that had too many chain resturants than some place that has none and no longer has a sonic.  (sorry SD)

i'm a city person though, MHK is absolutely the smallest place i'll ever live.

I like how everyone just assumes that everybody else has been to their tiny little Kansas town and expects people to agree with them without seeing any photos. Meade and Garden City are the frontrunners right now because they are the only nominees with any visual evidence.

I think Atchison is majestic in it's own way. Set in a valley, right by the river, and good people. 

that's where like bethany or something is isn't it?  watched a wbb game there once.

Bethany is in Lindsborg (Which I hear is pretty cool too) just 10 miles south of Salina. Benedictine is in Atchison. I almost played baseball there.

I've been there, probably with your source regarding lindsborg, it's a trash town. With a trash college. A trash bar that is owned and ran by trash. Lindsborg would win trashiest ks town award tho.
