In Illinoisland, we're having a bizarre bout with déjà vu. The rift between Scout board and reality based message boards is one of the lingering affects of chronic Weberitis.

Yeah, Frank has this team so screwed up, NO ONE can coach it. It's just a bunch of "long athletes" and poor little Will Spradling who never fits in.

Also, this is amazing and goes back to my prediction that the highlight of BBSing this season will be when we get curb-stomped at home by KU. A lot of conflicting tuck principles are headed for a spectacular collision on that day:

"I think we can slip up on KU, at Bramlage, if the place is packed and the students get crazy.  Keep in mind, there are several freshmen on KU's team who could get rattled if things get tough.  I think we can go 1 and 1 here.  We should beat Texas Tech twice, TCU twice.  We should beat Iowa State at least once.  We should beat Oklahoma twice.  We should beat Oklahoma State at least once.  We beat West Virginia at least once, probably twice; I think we beat Texas at least once if not twice.  I think we beat Baylor once at home.  I'm predicting a 12 and 6 record."

Okay, after reading that again, I'm pretty sure the "when I was a student" talking point may take some heat off Weber. If all the basement-dwelling young goons on this board really got the place rocking like Ahearn, we would beat KU this year. So, a preemptive thanks for nothing you fools.
"How will I recruit to Manhattan? Well, distance. And the proud state of basketball. It start there, and then daily flights to Dallas, because I'm really good at going out. Like top five good. Ask my wife. She wants me to be happy."

That's pretty impressive.  Not only does he try to blame Frank for oscar's ineptitude, but he also tries to give oscar credit for John Groce's success so far at Illinois.  All the while knowing that K-State was better last year under Frank and Illinois was far worse under oscar.  That is a special combination of willful ignorance and Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) logic there.  Curious to see if K-State rebounds and Illinois tanks will Frank get the credit and oscar get the blame (respectively). :ohno:

Question for you Mr. Bread:  Are you a tuck if you read those kstatfans posts and they actually merit consideration?  That happened to me, but I also was at a local pub watching both the K-State and ku games last night.  I watched the 'Cats struggle with a 1-9 Texas Southern, and ku double up several times on a 10 win Richmond team.  In short, the evaluation called for in the kstatefans posts make sense, but I cannot reconcile them to the reality I watched last night.

If you find yourself arguing that oscar's new team failing with him and his old one succeeding without him are a positive for oscar then I think it's safe to say you're the worst kind of tuck; the kind that makes it possible for a guy like oscar Weber to stay employed at Illinois four years too long and to get a job like K-State immediately after that.  oscar is only able to keep on Brucing because of people like that.  He doesn't exist without them.  He is not the enemy; they are.

Hey, Stephen F. Austin is a pretty salty team this year and the Southland Conference is no joke.

I skimmed the thread, and while it started poorly, I would say half the posts are at least not buying the bullshit that Illinois is good this year because of Weber's teachings, and that K-State is bad because of Frank.

Also, it appears that IlliniTilIDie is in like the top 10% of posters there.  :barf:
