So I guess we should be "happy" that that fear appears to be unwarranted? :dunno:

I can't. I get sad when we suck no matter what. I want to win all the games. I never wanted to lose under Prince either.

I'd rather go 2-10 twice and fire a guy and move on than go 5-7 or 6-6 for five consecutive years. Of course the 2-10 years suck while they're happening, but they're for the greater good.

We got Ronnie fired after 3 years when he easily couldve been bowl eligible for all 3 if he didn't over schedule in the non-con.  Just takes some real vitriol from all parts of the fanbase.

Ron embarrassed himself nine times against NU/KU/MU, pissed off a lot of donors, and coaches football (not basketball).

It will take more fail in bball to get crap done quickly.

Can't do it. Do you watch us and cheer for the other team? Inside do you get happier when Angel misses a shot or Rodney sucks 24/7? I see the logic, don't get me wrong.

I can still want the team to win and support the players because in the end I know Weber will eff things up enough to ensure failure

Ron had a president residing over him who felt the KU embarrassment as much as any GPC member.

I wanted Wooly drawn and quartered in his 6th year.  I wanted him fired more than I have ever wanted anything sports related in my life.  Still wanted to win every single game.    :dunno:

I'm with yosh.  We contain multitudes.

look at you, such good fans.

I wanted Wooly to win, too. And made it a point to watch every game. I just don't care now.

I think you do.  At least more than you're letting on.

It's okay.  No one is passing judgment in here.

I don't know how you can want the team to win yet want oscar to fail and get fired.  I don't see how that works.  Once I reached the point I was certain Weber had to go I had to stopping caring about Illinois hoops.  Didn't watch it all.  Just checked in to see if we lost and thankfully oscar came through for me more often than not.  All it did was piss me off to even think about it let alone watch a game.  You can't support something you're burning the eff down.  Paradoxical.  Point being, you have to stop caring to truly burn it down I think.

I'm with _FAN and sd in that I can't watch a game and actively root for the opposition. But I think it's possible to stop watching and not be as unhappy when you see emaw lose like Bread just said. I'm currently doing that with my undergrad school and their garbage coach. It's the last year of his contract and the more he loses, the more likely it is that he'll be gone. I'm not sad about that.

I just can't do this, I have to watch and when I watch I will root for the cats to win.

What did you do to distract yourself instead of watching?  Did you stop bbsing?  Did you stop talking with your other Illini fan friends?

I am very popular and therefore have a very busy social life. Living in PST helps a lot, too. Oh, a 5 pm tip? I'll just work and browse the score on the train ride home. Or not.

Yeah, it rough ridin' sucks.  I love CBB.  Man I rough ridin' hated oscar so much.  It was like he was getting paid millions of dollars to take away something I loved.  Like if I was somehow guaranteed I wouldn't have gotten in trouble, I would have taken immense pleasure in beating him to death.

"Hey Mr Bread, want this gun to shoot oscar?"
"Nope, gonna use my bare hands and this big piece of rebar."

He is just such a loathsome, unworthy piece of crap.

Again, I didn't watch last Saturday and yell "Go Zags go!!!" from my couch. I watched in disgust during the game, then booted up goEMAW after the game to discuss how the night benefitted #burnitdown.

:dunno:

I couldn't watch the respository for oscar's spent seed that Illinois basketball had become.

Wooly being here still seemed like we were trying to win, but didn't know how.  Weber being here seems like we're not trying.

Wooly had teams that were almost there. They were just one key piece away from being competitive Big 12 basketball teams. They never made the NIT, but they got snubbed a couple of times. This team is a dumpster fire. They were a second round NCAA team last season and are most likely NIT bound. Next year, we are probably back to getting snubbed by the NIT. Wooly wasn't really any better, but this is harder to watch because we have a tournament-caliber roster.

Not a good year to miss the NCAAs with this team while IL dances.  Will want to save his crap head pass with the fans for next year.
