CFB didn't start for me until I was old enough to watch/follow it, so yeah, around 1994.

I fully respect Nebraska football and its history. The run of 3 titles in the 90s was very impressive, and I thoroughly enjoyed Frazier dismantling the Florida defense.

However, there have been 15 years of football since that last shared national title in 1997.

That is not some insignificant span of time.

During that time the numbers are as follows:

Winning percentage: NU - 68.8%, KSU - 64.4%
Double digit win seasons: NU - 6, KSU - 7
Conference titles: NU - 0, KSU - 2
Finished top 10: NU - 3, KSU - 4

Pretty much equal programs for the last 15 years. Keep in mind that includes Snyder slipping, Prince, and Snyder rebuilding.

Weird thread.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

So what I'm getting is that the past 19 years has been relevant but the  90 years prior weren't. Listen, as I have stated many times here. I have met and conversed with bill many times and think he is a brilliant coach. I admire what he and his teams have accomplished. But you can't turn a blind eye to the pre 93 seasons and think all is well. I hope ksu succeeds after Bill leaves...but I'm skeptical at best.

No, not at all.

I don't think any K-State fan would downplay or deny the incredible run of success Nebraska had under Devaney and Osborne, but the point is it is history. And I'll readily admit there are no guarantees for the future of K-State football after Bill is gone.

Nebraska will likely get another conference title and be in the conversation for a national title in the next 15 years, but they will never have a run like they did from the 60s through the 90s.

K-State fans like me (that were in school as K-State rose and while Nebraska was at its peak) will always respect what Nebraska accomplished, but we also will never forget the arrogance and the fact that we saw the Nebraska "classiest fans in the world" facade disappear once K-State started beating Nebraska a few times in the late 90s. Its still enjoyable for us to be a program that is equal to "the mighty Huskers", and not just for a couple years, but for a decade and a half.

It was 1905 when George Santayana said "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it". No team will ever accomplish the run NU ad in those years. The landscape of cfb has changed with the 85 scholarship limits etc. Etc. The playing field is more level than ever.
What you would define as arrogance I would define as pride. We both have horror stories depicting the other fans as despicable, everyone does.
Trust me when I say that NU fans love Bill. He and Osborne are good friends. We admire what he has accomplished since 93 it nothing short of remarkable. NU hasn't been "mighty since 97 which is 15 years removed. I see NU hopefully trending up. If Bill leaves I fear ksu may slide back to mediocrity which would be sad for cfb as a whole.

Weird. I see KSU (my favorite team) trending up and your favorite team (nebraska) as sliding back to mediocrity.  Agree to disagree I guess.

We have had 5 years of 9+ wins with Bo at the helm. Played in 3 conf. Championships to lose them all. I think he is on the "cusp' of doing good things. But the dominance of the 90 's will not be again. It was fun while it lasted though :)

I was cheering for you guys in that championship game you lost to Texas.  Is that the one where Bo peed himself?  And by "peed himself" I don't mean that he fell apart at the end of the game and made bad decisions, I mean that he literally peed urine into his pants during the game.

All I know is a former KState coach was on the cusp of hanging a bill on Bo's boys this year.  Good thing he has some class or Bo would still be crying, even after Bielema left that shitty conference.

Ha! Ya it looked that way but he spilled a cup of Gatorade on himself. We all watched the tapes and saw it.  It did look like he pissed himself though.

JT does the Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) juice ever run out in your house? Bielema has no class he's as bad as Meyer. 90% of the Wisconsin fan base wanted Bielema gone. Check if you don't believe me.
