I'm 34, been season ticket holder for years along with the parents, aunt/uncle, we still have the same seats in section 5 from when the stadium 1st opened back in the 60's through my late grandparents. Definitely cheered louder when Willie was on the Dev. Wasn't at that 'famous' game due to a commitment while in the Marines, but knew the significance.
Other loud games and comment on shivvycats comment:
1) Obviously the 4OT win last year against the aTm conference quitters.
2) Brandon Archer INT for a TD to give K-State the go-ahead score when Snyder first retired, last game, against Mizzou and Finkel. I think we won that like 36-34 or something.
3) The game against USC in '02. Had to google it to remember if it was 01 or 02, but it was the game Newman returned a blocked field goal or PAT. That USC team had a ton of future NFLers.
4) KState 45-42 over Texas...it was RP's either 1st or 2nd year, I forget, but do remember how cold it was that night. Stadium was loud that night.
student section etc:
Does anyone else agree/acknowledge the psychology of fandom and that fans have to "learn how to win" and what's expected, just like players/teams have to 'learn to win'???
Sometimes when a program is "down," kids/students (not hating here, just opining) don't quite know how to act in terms of getting loud when the opposing team has the ball. Just something I've observed last few years watching the program fall/rise. We don't have decade after decade of tradition like some programs in that respect and I think there is some truth to this.
I'm guilty of going out and having a beer or so at the half but I'm always back in my seat in section 19, or with my dad in section 5 for the 3rd qtr.
