Best game to lose would have probably been Miami.
Where did you get that overnight bag?

Take out the BCS national championship, winners of the BCS bowl games go to a playoff.

Our omission from the top eight is tied back to our relatively low preseason ranking.

UF was ranked lower than us I think....at least #24 on Sept 8th....

Correct. They were 23 and we were 22 in the AP. However it's hard to be butthurt over them being ahead of us when their only loss was to a top 10 team.

Yeah but I dunno...Florida is the 1 loss ND. If you need a miracle to win at home against ULL, and it takes an interception in the end zone to beat MIZZ...you might not be that good.

yeah, but they also beat LSU, @aTm, USC, FSU. Even if you acknowledge the SEC artificially inflates their crap, that's a nice list of wins.

And if we start the season in the top 10, we're likely ahead of a lot of the one loss teams ahead of us. (and all 2-loss teams).

I think going to an 8 team playoff is going to happen soon after a few teams get fk'd over.  Either that or the committee will need some ground rules- Conference Champs from the big 5 conferences get into the playoff over a team that isn't a Conference Champ but has the same amount of losses- KSU/Bama get in over Oregon and Florida, BOOM problem solved.

That's great, but these bozos wouldn't have put us in an 8 team playoff either.

The best team from the best conference does not deserve a spot. IT'S MATH.

yep, it has a lot to do with preseason polls.  they should wait to put out the first poll until 4 or 5 weeks into the season to get a better picture of who teams really are.

that won't happen, but it would be nice.

Stunningly, that meant Kansas State -- a recent No. 1 team and the presumptive 11-1 Big 12 champion -- did not make the committee's top eight. Most members could not get past the Wildcats' 52-24 drubbing by then 4-5 Baylor.

"Even though they [have] one loss, it's a nasty loss," said Moos. "That's why I left them out. The other ones we're talking about are overtime losses and tough opponents."

"I just think Texas A&M and Oregon would beat 'em," Smith said of the Wildcats. Asked if he would have said that even before the Baylor loss, Smith replied: "Yep, I would have."

Can't wait for the new rule that will be named after us but never actually benefit us.
"How will I recruit to Manhattan? Well, distance. And the proud state of basketball. It start there, and then daily flights to Dallas, because I'm really good at going out. Like top five good. Ask my wife. She wants me to be happy."

Yes.  They're going to have to start numbering these...then again, with the BCS going away, maybe they won't have to.

I think they should wait until November 1.

But yeah, I don't think TV would allow it.

You guys aren't stoked to see 3 SEC teams and whoever finishes undefeated out of Oklahoma/Oregon/Ohio State play in the BCS playoffs every year?

I honestly think the playoff should only include conference champs. Instead of trying to pick the 4 "best" teams, they should just try to pair the 4 "most deserving" teams. None of these teams play even close to the same schedules, so it seems pretty arbitrary and ridiculous to me to say that 2 teams from one conference are head and shoulders better than a champion from another conference who played a completely different schedule. Allowing more than one team from a conference diminishes the regular season.

Make a requirement that to be eligible for the playoff you have to play at least 1 non-conf game against a BCS conf team
