Previous years I'd say, "Frank's teams always finish strong." Or "If Jake and Curt weren't suspended!" Or after the game Frank would say stuff like "Ever heard of that one, Stan?" And make us all happy that he was just as pissed about losing as we were. What excuse do we have right now? I don't know how oscar's teams progress throughout the year. I don't even know if he cares that we lose.  All I know is that he is a stupid dork and I hate him. Doesn't instill confidence.

I've had the same thought about "Frank acting like I feel" after a big loss.  Also understand the "boring" aspect about oscar.  All that crap is irrelevent if you win.  I don't give a eff about the personality.  I want K-State to be good.  If you can do that, I don't care if your come off like a raging lunatic or a booger eating moron.  If you can't, GTFO.

But at least most of us thought Frank had the program going in the right direction.  So even if the season looked bleak, we had hope for the future. All we have to compare oscar to is how he did at Illinois. So if he isn't winning big right now, it's hard to see how he could win big in the future.

yeah.  I get that.  But if he has short term mdoerate success like most believe, we could be looking at a decade of postseason appearances. With three different coaches. High school recruits will just know that K-State pretty much always makes the tourney as long as they can remember.  ...and who knows?  maybe oscar gets hit by a bus in three years?

On the other hand, if it falls apart instantly (per the burn it down movement), not only did we hire an Illinios retread, but he did far worse here, hell, he did better at Southern Illinois.  I just don't think that's good for the brand.

Agreed.  Also, I am betting the farm (figuratively) that Weber fails miserably.

It's sad. It was an identity, something we could relate to and reverberate as fans.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

oscar doesn't even have a rough ridin' month named after him, it makes me feel like we have to win all of our games early or all hope is lost.

Right after we had gone on a pretty good run during the Xavier game Gus said "And here come the Dobermans!" before the commercial break.

I don't understand.  That thread was rough ridin' fantastic.  It had everything.  If that's what CBB BBS'n was like when Frank was here, I hate oscar even more.  Except if not for oscar and Currie I wouldn't be here.  Paradox.

Oh, I agree. People still cared. We melted down hard with Frank, but that was much better than the indifference that oscar brings.

Here's a minor meltdown from when we lost to Duke.

Wouldn't mind if LHCBS pulled B Dubs aside and said "I got these 16 little pieces of advice. Pay particular attention to #11"
I guess I feel like Frank really bought into #11. I also feel like Frank would have campaigned for the addition of #17: Don't get clown-suited on rebounds"

frank certainly would have campaigned for #17.  it also certainly wouldn't have done his team any good.  but it would have looked good, and it would have made a great frank selling point.
