Charlie Strong is too good for us, right?  And Dave Doeren wouldn’t ever come to KSU, would he?  I’m trying to think of other viable candidates.  There’s always Venzy.  I would suggest Mark Stoops (FSU’s Def Coordinator).  He might be too good for us, I don’t know.

Actually, I think I might drive the Mark Stoops bus.  He’s been an assistant under Leavitt at USF, Dimel @ Wyoming and @ Houston (he was co-def cord w/ Dick Bumpass – TCU’s D cord), DB coach at Miami, Def Cord @ Arizona under Mikey, and has been FSU’s DC since the ’10 season.  FSU’s scoring D has been #20, #4, and is #1 since his arrival (after being #34, #27, and #94 in the 3 seasons prior to him coming on).  For the tucks, he was a player at Iowa from 86-89.

Mike and Mark are the exact opposite of the only person Currie has hired since being here. 

Supposedly Mike is a huge bad person, and we already know Mark is.  Compare them to oscar and I think you will see that Currie won't even let his hugely expensive consultant buddy bring their names up while they are eating brunch at their Dallas hotel restaurant.

Mark is the perfect balance; keeps the tucks happy (somewhat loose association with Bill’s tree, blah, blah, blah) but would be something that Currie could take credit for.  Mark would get time with the fan base because of his “affiliation” to Bill. 

Because as much as there was an uproar about oscar, hire someone like oscar for football, and Currie has no chance.  None.  And neither would the next coach.  I will say, I think Butch Jones looks like what Currie would hire.  Unfortunately, Brian Kelly will not have recruited for 2-3 years at KSU prior to Butch coming in.

Yeah, Butch Jones is a very attainable candidate for Kansas State.

Dave Doeren feels like Currie's dream, but I don't think he's attainable for us.  Maybe if Currie was really willing to overpay him...but, even then...probably not.
