When was the last time you watched a major conference team play a friday night game that wasn't the cotton bowl?

August 31 of last year, first Friday of the season, #13 Michigan State vs #24 Boise State:

It's going to take quite a bit of time for me to muster up the courage to ask my boss if I can leave work hours early so I can go drink a thousand beers in a field for five hours before kickoff.

At least I've got a couple months to warm her up to the idea...

Why would the students be bitches about this?  I can't think of a better way to start the semester.  That's going to be a very fun day on campus.

I remember the Nebraska game as a student. Got done with class and just walked over to the tailgates. Smart ones packed beers in their backpacks for the walk over. Dumb ones bummed brews off the smart ones.

All in all, what better way to get through a school day than by knowing that in a few short hours your going to be goin all  :emawkid: with 50,000+ of your closest friends and family. And then you get to sleep in the next day and dont have to worry about feeling bad for missing church because you're too hungover from celebrating the win (unless you go on Saturdays?).

Suck it up students. Campus is dead Friday afternoon anyways.

Now us working people here have every right to be pissed for having to take one of our hard earned days off work to make it to the game.

They aren't FS1 flagship material, either. Take a lap, EMAWmeister. Jeesh.

Love it!

I just hope that if it's on this fancy new network, that whatever bar I am at will carry the game if I am out of town for labour day weekend.

friday night games are great.  so are thursday night games.  why wouldn't you want to be the only game on national tv?

really gives you guys a chance to drink twice as much, because you have an extra day to recover.  lemons --> lemonade, guys

Also guys the dove opener is Sunday that year, so like you could not be so hungover and have to make yourself get up even though you don't want to.

I bet ESPN moves a huge opening weekend game to Friday to try to compete with K-State's Fox Sports 1 Network.

I guess it's good after reading up on it and taking a step back. I didn't like it at first do to tradition and birthday weekend reasons, but I guess I will take.
