I've done snuba a few times, pretty fun.
in the end, EMAW will always win.
Cancun, the Branson of the Yucatan. Enjoy the drug violence. At least got to Playa Del Carmen.

However, we are not big lay-out-ers. Will do some, but will mostly drink and read. No sand castling, etc.Para-sail is out. Does not look fun to me. Looks like a pain in the ass.then why are you going to cancun? go to napa. good grief, you don't know what you want.If you've been reading this thread, the trip is all about what his wife wants, not even sure why he's taking our input.I mean, we'll go to the beach and stuff, but I/we are more up for a cabana and kindles than a towel and coppertone. I'd put the beach time at about 25% of the trip...couple hours each morning or evening or some such.Basic scuba (not certified), snorkling, great restaurants, booze cruises, that sort of thing sounds good.sounds like you'd enjoy puerto vallarta more.

I just looked at pictures on tripadvisor, Lake perry has nicer beaches.I've done both Cancun and PVR, and yes, Lake Perry has nicer beaches. Also, the hotels in Cancun are far more elite than in PVR. There are about two hotels in PVR that don't have concrete floors -- and not the stamped fancy concrete. It's concrete like in your parents' basement. Also, if you're going to scuba, Carribbean waters are so much clearer and cleaner than those in the Bay of Banderas in PVR.
I am almost positive I stayed at the nicest place in PVR when I was there in August. It was pretty, but Puerta Mujeres in (near) Cancun... Waaaay better.

PVR flight times are perfect to and from KC. I like Cancun better, but would go back to PVR.
