I blame all the stupid in this thread on rusty, just like this loss is on Snyder.  Starts at the top kids....

And string together a couple seasons like this together, and KSU will be able to make it with a loss.

On second though it happened. And theres nothing we can do to change that. Nothing. Thats sports we have to put all our reliance on a 73 year old man and an overachieving qb. We got let down and we will continue to be let down. We may never win in all in the earths history, but then again we may. Reality sucks and it seems to suck even more for us. Just keep hoping and supporting and maybe someday something will happen to make it not suck so much or maybe it wont no one really knows.

We lost because our D-line sucks balls and taints.  It's Mo Lattimore's fault.  We have had to scour the JuCos like a emeffer because he can't recruit anyone out of HS and develop them into top tier defensive lineman.  Fire Mo, get in a top notch recruiter for our d-line and we are firing on all cylinders.

I believe people have been calling for this since 2004 (maybe even in 03 when OSU and Marshal ran all over us)

I want to believe this, but realistically, we'll all die without seeing a NC for football. Accept it.
As good as Rusty's post is, the odds are in KITNfury's favor.  The list of teams that win NCs is not long and a lot of names repeat.

the game has changed.

JFC you are exposing yourself if you think the playoff system will radically change the BCS cartel paradigm.

Just look at what expanding the playoffs did to MLB. A wild card team has won just about every year. Expanding the playoff to 4 teams was huge, and 10 years (or less) from now when it gets expanded to 8 teams, it will be almost as easy to win a NC in football as it is in basketball. We will have other chances, as long as Currie does not bury this program with his replacement for Snyder.
I agree 8 team will change the paradigm.   4 teams won't do crap.  Especially k-state, especially whenever there is a human factor involved.

Rusty has his head in the sand when it comes to history.  K-State, most snubbed team with BCS at larges.  K-State the ONLY team in the BCS system to have a rule made because they were LEFT OUT.  I'm sorry I don't think Snyder is willing to recruit the horses to compete in a round robin in order to get the auto bit into a play off, I don't think we will have the horses to finish the job in a playoff.  History is on my side right now.

here's the thing. WE CAN GO UNDEFEATED IN THIS LEAGUE. IF WE GO UNDEFEATED WE WILL rough ridin' PLAY IN THE PLAYOFFS YOU DUMBSHIT.
nice personal attack because you're not intelligent enough to form an answer.  I said we could go undefeated, but we won't have the horses to finish the job.  Round robin or playoff, I don't see how we finish against great top tier teams or teams who are stacked with 5*s.  Guess what Snyder isn't recruiting those players dipshit.

we found out tonight that we are a 24 person deep team...
shitty recruiting has not done us any favors.
we had a walk-on at d-end for more than half the game, you are eventually putting band-aids over tape with this roster.

I'm worried that a team of 2s* and 3s* will be running on empty when they go to play anyone of 6 teams from the SEC, USC/Oregon, FSU, Texas/OU.  If we get through an incredibly challenging round robin against some heavy weights, we are than going to face an even steeper challenge from the playoff.  Teams that will be battle tested, with incredible players, and good/great coaching.  I mean we have a shot.  We had a shot tonight.  We blew it against the worst defensive team this year.

I don't see how we challenge without a massive paradigm shift at K-State.  That means doing things Snyder hasn't/isn't willing to do.  That means our admin doing things it hasn't done, admittedly they are starting to do now; facilities, donors, etc but that IS only ADJC and animal.  I worry that we will K-State0 ourselves out of those types of administrative players.

This.  I feel bad for Mueller.  He got effing manhandled because he's half the size of the o-lineman he's up against.  Meshak Williams is our best def lineman and he's not very big, just explosive.  Lutui and Boyd played like absolute ass.  RBs running right past them all night as they were blocked up.  No penetration into the backfield.  I thought we defended the run better when we put in our "pass rush" d-line with Tuggle and Davis lined up with a hand down.  We have to recruit better on the defensive line or we will continue to lose games like this.  We are real close, guys.  Just a good recruiting class of good defensive players and we are real close.

You have no appreciation for how close we've been, TWICE!!!!

If you think we can make it to a semifinal, we do not need a rough ridin' paradigm shift to win the semifinal. Good Grief.

Here's a thought . . . "coaching the ones we've got" too much leads to being tight and over thinking.   Let's do a smidgen less "coaching the ones we've got" and do a little more "finding the ones that will eventually be the one's we've got".
