I think a lot of its on Snyder. Once we got up by 2 scored in the 1st quarter we seemed to coast. 1st quarter we had 121 yards on 17 plays, good for 7.1 yards per snap.

The rest of the game we had 132 yards on 42 plays, good for 3.1 yards per snap.

Our offensive line didn't play great, and TCU's front played really well, but after the 1st quarter Snyder went into "let's get home" mode.

And we've had 2 poor offensive performances this year, TCU and ISU. The only two games we've been worse than our average yards per play. However, against every other Big 12 opponent, we've been better by at least 1 yard per snap offensively than what our opponents give up on average. Including pretty good defenses in OU and Tech.

Isn't Snyder praised for being the one to NOT let his teams do that?

It depends. Snyder has been known to reign it in. After we got the lead he started to play the field position and the wind because it think he realized TCU wasn't going to score a bunch on our defense.

And it worked really well. It was 23-0 in the 4th and we cruised to a win. It was the classic "grinder" football game.

what is everyone's excuse for Klein's missing several throws?   the defense made his arm suck or how does that work?

Klein isn't going to have a 19/21 type game every damn week. Jesus Christ

we aren't going to play the worst pass defense in the country every week.  jesus christ.

TCU is one of the top 3 defenses in the league. Top 2 in sacks, tackles for loss, and turnovers gained. Best rush defense in the league.

he is referring to klein's performance against wvu, which has the worst ranked pass defense in division 1.  When we've played good defenses, we really haven't looked good.
What the eff are you talking about, TTU had one of the top defenses when we played them.  What did they do to stop us?

I guess the media and you were full of crap when they predicted we would lose to TTU because of their defense, the week leading up to their blow out.  Maybe they were on a fishing expedition, like you in these threads.

If Ck was on a concussion plan this week I'm sure they didn't let him study film until Wednesday or Thursday.might have accounted for him making some bad reads

yeah, a good defense totally allows KU to rush for 390 yards against them.  good grief.

i dunno, allowing 390 rushing yds to KU seems like a pretty valid argument for a defense being not very good.

completely agree...  Plus, after re-watching it on DVR this afternoon, I'm convinced that we could have killed them consistently with the QB draw.  However, there was no reason to risk getting Klein hit consistently.

The Fields kid for TCU is a beast and only a freshman.  He'll play on Sundays.

That's what makes them good defenses...

is that why ISU allowed 609 yards to Texas?
Well when you lose the best linebacker in the conference to injury it tends to kind of mess with your defense, believe it or not.

this. they lost thier arthur brown Manti Teo

FYP.   Knott had fantastic stats

It was clear pretty early that TCU's best opportunity to score would be from a turnover inside the 50 or taken to the house. Thus, we got pretty vanilla on offense to minimize that chance.

That's an absolutely nuts discrepancy.

Know we needed to be more balanced on O this year, and our Oline has enabled that, but I do like watching Ck jackhammer through a line behind his blocks, and hope we get to unleash that in the mnc.

He is injured.  He missed several throws yesterday and his arm strength was horrible.  If our offense played like it did last night, there is no way we beat Texas.
Don't fret. UT doesnt have our defense or coach.

Edit: Rename thread "Whistling past the grave yard". Sure, help Klien by not running the draw (one nice play) and let him get racked repeatedy by our 4 man rush? Why not take him out completely? Keep taking what happened lightly by all means. If Snyder feels that way UT will roll you guys. BTW, Baylor is the ultimate trap situation.

carnes is right.  klein's brain wasn't functioning properly, and it showed up in everything from bad throws to bad reads.

afaik, concussions are bruised brains, and afaik, brains heal at the same speed as skin or other places that get bruised.  so he should be fine for texas.  thank god for that goddamn bye.
