I have to think Cody Davis will have nightmares about this game for quite awhile, possibly the rest of his life. Ts and Ps.

The analysts always talk about the bind that a running qb puts safeties in but this breaks down exactly why.  I have a feeling OK Lite's safeties are gonna be in for a long night.

in plays 2 and 4 especially you can see the unguarded receiver i was talking about.  kinda shows up in the others, but the receivers look to be closer together so that the unguarded one isn't so unguarded.

still seems like you could just flip him the ball and let him go.

You can, but you'll probably get about 5 yards. And if the linebacker in either of those is on a stunt to the outside, he might pick it and go for 6.

In fact, we pretty much did what you suggest on this play]http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=RYXygtHZf5Y#t=3788s]on this play. We got about a 5 yard gain, but it wasn't as big as it looked like it could have been.

5 easy yards seems pretty good to me.   :dunno:  plus, sometimes the receiver might break a tackle.

i assume stunt means that the linebacker breaks on the reciever at the snap, anticipating a pass.  seems like when the lb has to cover almost 10 yards, that'd be something a heismany qb would see and not make the throw.  plus he could fake and then the receiver could go downfield with a numerical advantage.

i'm sure it's not a significantly better option than the plays they actually run, just seems like passing up layups to shoot 3s.

the pirate's offense used to do that all the time for 3-5 yd gains.

wow, the greatest offensive mind in all of football, and he can't think of a better play than throw it to the open guy.  pretty interesting.

There are lots of things coaches will do quite a bit, but won't live on. Plus, football coaches over think all the time.
