I have trouble with ears on airplanes.  One time my ear wouldnt pop even after we had nearly landed and then I did that thing where you hold nose and blow air out.  Ear finally popped but a watery mixture that looked like wax and blood came out

that hold nose and blow air thing has a name. it's called a valsalva maneuver. wow! you also more than likely have some mild eustachian tube dysfunction. you also probably had a cold or something while you were flying that one time making matters worse and your tympanic membrane perforated. i bet the whole blood water mixture thing hurt an insane amount. sorry gE friend.

I've heard that he hates having his hair touch his ears, so the bun makes sense.
