also, maybe it bothers you more because you're doing different things on the road than what you do at home. increased alcohol consumption? eating out at bad places so sodium consumption is increased? nicotine, caffeine, increased stress while on the road could also explain.

That is what I do. It still isn't perfect, but it is better than having it off.

I'm not a tinnitus sufferer, but find it impossible to sleep in a room without some sort of white noise. I usually wear earplugs when staying in hotels.

The only thing worse than a quiet room is a room with a TV on. Why on earth would you want all of that light and noise while trying to sleep?

Earplugs basically amplify the ringing. I need sound to drown it out.

yeah, earplugs would be a horrible suggestion for dobber. he needs more ambient noise, not less. also, things like tv and radio tend to not work as well as white, pink, brown, etc type noise because your brain interprets them as signals. constant and unchanging broadband type signals work the best for most.

man i can't tell you guys how exciting it is for me to be able to talk about tinnitus and different types of noises! wow! i never, ever get the opportunity and it's just something that i'm so passionate about. All of these "noise colors" are just broadband type sounds with different frequencies weighted in different ways. love treble? sir can i interest you in some blue or violet? think those are a little to harsh/sharp? ok then, i have a nice little white over here that i think you'll just love. be sure to click on the ten second samples. let's all find our favorite and report back and talk about them!
