I'm having a tough time coming up with a Big 12 win for KU, Too bad that KU did not play TCU last week, they might have had a shot.

Bo Pelini is much higher on this list in reality.  New AD and miserable season. Bo is feelin' the heat.
I'd say the same for Pinky.

Also, Congrats to the 2011 Cats, who went 11-2.

chances are you'll find K-State's next coach in that list

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Bullshit list imo. Charlie needs significantly more time. Multiple years minimum, to right this ship.

Guys guys!!!
 :bill:
LHCLHCBS is the oldest coach in FBS by....more than 5 years!!! and is 22 years older than the average age of FBS coaches.
 :bill:
Also, had no idea Lane Kiffin is only 36. Or for us mathematically inclined, less half the age of LHCLHCBS

Pinkle is untouchable for this season unless he does more stupid stuff off field.  MU can't and wont join a conference and fire an 8win/season coach in the same yr.

As for Bo, well, if he doesn't end up ranked and in a dece bowl at the end of the year he's mumped.  New AD coming and all.

I'd take Weiss on KSU staff.  That is a lot of Super Bowl rings

How many losses in how many weeks without firing Weiss until KU is officially racist?

this is a sad but valid question

i'd say that we'll have our answer in a year and a half if weis keeps performing so horribly. gill won 5 games in two years and was fired. if weiss has a similar record but is allowed to come back and coach a third year then even the biggest ku apologist would have to admit to it.

Sad. Makes it really hard to TSC this thing through when you have people who have no clue how to run an athletics program over there.

If the KU admin would just do the right thing and give Charlie Weis a long term (10-15 year) guaranteed money deal it would put this entire thing to rest.

At that point the NCAA and NAACP will be involved.

To lesbians.  Also, nobody said the truth was cool, TBL.  Sorry if I'm just a little too real for you.  Sometimes the world is raw and gritty.  Maybe take your head out of the sand once in a while and you'd know that.  To be fair, probably pretty gritty down there where you're at though too, what with the sand and all.  Also, might be a little raw on account of rashes from the sand on your skin.  Still, the point stands.

Don't you see a pattern here?  KU hires a new coach, that coach starts out by losing because previous coach left cupboard bare and it is very hard to win at ku, the fans get restless (especially if the coach is black), the admin won't act to secure the coaches long-term status thus making it worse and worse.  This is a chick and egg scenario that only Sheehon can stop.

Agree with everything said here. Sad that KU fans throw him under the bus simply because he isn't winning. Goliath loses every once in a while, people. Charles just happened to schedule a bunch of Davids, who use sneaky not nice tricky tactics to combat our beloved Jayhawks. Besides the loss against our Super-Goliath-Wild-Snydercats, those losses were never a sure thing until the very end. Just give him time, that's all I ask.

Don't they still owe Gill 3 years of his contract, counting this year? If they fired Weis after this season, they would be paying Gill, Weis, and whoever else they could actually afford. No wonder these guys can never get improvements to their stadium off the ground.

IIRC Gill had to get paid the rest of his money within 60 days or 90 days or something.  Greatest contract ever.

it was 120 days. the contract part of his wiki page is lolsville...

Termination and Contract Controversy This section's tone or style may not reflect the encyclopedic tone used on Wikipedia. See Wikipedia's guide to writing better articles for suggestions. (September 2012)

A review of nine other Big 12 coaches’ contracts — as a private institution Baylor is not required to release such information and the contract of Texas Tech coach Tommy Tuberville was not available — showed that most coaches would suffer a financial penalty for terminating the contract. Texas A&M coach Mike Sherman, for example, would owe the Aggies $1.8 million (his annual salary) for leaving before his contract expires, just as Gill did when he had to pay the University at Buffalo $200,000 for taking the job at Kansas. KU Athletics paid that. Gill’s current contract did not include such a penalty.

Of the nine contracts available, six were written with language more favorable to the university than Gill’s. Not surprisingly, the University of Texas and Oklahoma University stand to save the most via buyouts should they ever elect to dump football coaches Mack Brown or Bob Stoops before the end of their contracts. In addition, Oklahoma State would save 25 percent of its contract with coach Mike Gundy should OSU can Gundy without cause and Iowa State would save nearly 50 percent if the Cyclones hand Paul Rhoads his walking papers.

Why Gill’s contract was written in such a one-sided manner is puzzling, especially given he was making less than $500,000 a year at Buffalo. Optimists would say former KU Athletic Director Lew Perkins was so convinced Gill would upgrade the football program that he did not see the need to include language that is pretty standard in college coaching contracts. Perkins was terminated shortly after signing the contract amid a number of scandals.

Pessimists would question the competence of KU athletics, which just went through a messy divorce with Mangino. Because there was no buyout in place, Perkins had to launch an investigation into Mangino’s coaching tactics in order to scare the coach into thinking KU could fire him with cause. That put Mangino in the mood to negotiate and led to a $3 million settlement.[14]

University of Kansas head football coach Turner Gill's departure was a costly one. The university owed coach Gill nearly $6 million, money that was due in just 120 days. [15]

Despite calls to resign and forfeit the remaining funds given his dismal performance, and as a demonstration of integrity and personal responsibility, he refused and the university was forced to tap boosters to pay out the remainder of his contract.

Such short memories down the road.  Remember when Bill Self rolled into town, and was losing games left and right to Richmond and Oral Roberts and a Wooly coached K-State team?  If I recall correctly they had like 3 or 4 losing seasons, but look at them now, the patience paid off with the basketball team.  They need to support Weis with EXACTLY the same fervor they give to Self.  Hell, I'd say extend him to 2022 just like Bill, then sit back and watch the rings pile up.

Nebraska fans turning on Bo bad, told me they think Osborne quit to save the embarrassment of having to fire him.

Here is the problem.  Little bro's memory has been damaged by the large amt of drug use that they and their athletes are known for and given that Chuck isn't wearing his rings, they simply don't remember how stellar, amazing, and dominant his resume is.

Chuck, help your fans out and put the rings on.
