Weiss' contract is guaranteed money. But money aside, it's hard to build a program in 5 games, especially at a craphole like Memorial Stadium. Just stating facts tsc'ers.

Unbelievable that KU fans are already calling for his head. Charlie is in this thing for the long haul, why aren't their fans? Agree with ElltoPay that he needs 5 years minimum before results can even be taken into account. Rome wasn't built in a day people.

Don't they still owe Gill 3 years of his contract, counting this year? If they fired Weis after this season, they would be paying Gill, Weis, and whoever else they could actually afford. No wonder these guys can never get improvements to their stadium off the ground.

Things KU administration needs to do NOW to quiet their fanbase from their calling for Weis's head:

1. Long Term Guaranteed Contract. This will show the fanbase that there is no turning back. Burn the boats.

2. Move the stress of the KState game off the coaching staff. It was clear from day one that Charlie was giving ONE job, to beat KState. Who could succeed under that type of pressure? Make it clear that while it's still clearly their superbowl, they value other games to some extent.

3. Give Charlie Weis complete control over staffing, salaries and organization of the football program. The man has like 12 super bowl rings. Do you think you know more about building a program from the ground up than he does? I don't think so!

4. Make it clear that you back Charlie's stance when it comes to the local media. If he wants to call out the student newspaper and bully them into submission then that's his right. This goes for KC, Wichita and Topeka news outlets as well. Charlie calls the shots, you journos just be happy you get to cover the man (see super bowl ring comment in #3)

These guys really needed MU. They need to find a new MU and Chuck set the sights too high in thinking that KSU would be it. They need to hold a presser and have Chuck declare isu the new team to beat.

Also need to bring back the Gridiron videos to show the fans the 'inside' and that Charlie does indeed know what he's doing.
