Had a KU fan on my facebook typing, in all caps, that Snyder was being a bad sport because he was still running read options in the fourth quarter.

We didn't throw a pass for the last 18 minutes of the game.  I'm not sure what else we could have done.

immediately punted every time we got the ball. :dunno:

because it seems like pretty much all ku fans had serious issues with our back up offense trying to run and execute plays in an actual game. i'll assume that their basketball walk ons will refuse to inbounds the ball for the last five minutes of a game the next time ku bball is beating some naia by fifty. because it sure seems like that's the norm and what ku fans expect. anything short of it would be trying to run it up on that poor naia team.

One of themn commented that we should have been passing to avoid running up the score, because we were too successful in the run game.

Also, they noted that Bill Self will order his player to dribble out the final seconds because he never runs it up (as if anticipating your basketball argument).  If Bill really wants to be classy the players will not shoot for the last 5-10 minutes because that is trying to score.  But that won't happen because Bill Self is a rough ridin' dirtball with no class.

That must be a premium board.  I mean, where else are you going to get high FBIQ analysis like this:

This thread is so familiar.

Anyway.

ku vs Baylor 2007.

ku up 44-7 with 7 minutes left to play throws 4 passes on their way to the endzone to go up 51-7.

ku up 51-7 intercepts a Baylor pass and returns it to the Baylor 24 yard line with 1:40 left on the clock.   ku scores a TD with 8 seconds left in the game to go up 58-7.

ku vs SE Lousiana 2007

ku has the ball up 62-0 with 2:22 left in the game, ku runs 5 plays, including a rush for 7 yards on the last play of the game.   Clearly trying to punch another one in from the SE La 14 yard line.   What, they couldn't take a knee?   This game has rules and decorum and fair play.

I'd like to see a season where we hang more points on them in FB that they do in BB.

Also, this is the way that I've always looked at it, and maybe I am wrong. The game may be over and out of hand, but our season isn't. I believe that Snyder just keeps calling plays because it's extra practice time. He believes in getting a little better everyday. Why waste the practice time? Just because the other team can't stop us, doesn't mean our offense can't practice the plays, sets, blocking schemes, etc.

This isn't the 12th Century, bruh.

I'd have to imagine this is the first time a team has attempted 14 passes and still been accused of running up the score.

So would it have been more insulting to them if we'd started taken a knee at the begining of the 4th quarter?   :dunno:

Les Miles did this in a game last year and caught a lot of flack for it. You just can't win, ya know?

You can't run two fakes in the same drive in the first quarter and not expect to get your dick stomped in. It's in the rules somewhere. These jokers got off easy.

I found that the more hilarious part of their argument that we were RUTS was the fact that ARTHUR BROWN WAS STILL IN THE GAME ON DEFENSE IN THE FOURTH QUARTER.

Actual quote in response to the argument that our 2nd and 3rd stringers were in the game by the 4th quarter:
Quote
That's why Arthur Brown, Malone, Chapman, Zimmerman were all in during the middle of the 4th quarter. We had Cummings in and they were running the ball and Brown was near every tackle. So he was still in..

I mean come on guys, if Snyder had any class, his 1st team defense would be out of the game in the 4th quarter and thus not be running up the score.

I was pissed that Arthur was still in the game in the 4th quarter, too. Not because I don't like running up the score (I do), but because we need to make sure that Arthur stays fresh.

I completely agree with you, but the fact that our starting MLB was in the game in the 4th quarter is not reason to argue that we were running up the score.

Anybody remember running a QB sneak against Baylor on the last play of the game?
