Bill isn't going to retire any time soon with a nucleus of offensive lineman, receivers, and Sams returning over the next few years.

He'll coach until he's 80.

-Winning based on heart, not talent

What does this mean?

Quite simply Rob, we are beating teams based on wanting it more, not by our talent.

That is rough ridin' stupid, no offense.  These players aren't going to make it to the NFL based on their "want to."

I'm not saying they aren't talented at all. I'm simply saying the DOD teams of '97-2000 were extremely talented. No way players like Childs, Sua, Chapman and Milo play on those teams.

Again, our team is very talented (Especially Offensively). I guess our Defense is what I'm focusing on.

Probably true, but I would argue that Sua has been far better than expected, and Milo has been good at least in run support.

Wasn't there some CatMatt video about schools with new "experimental" hires failing and rehiring a new coach who won an NC in their third year?... :horrorsurprise:

Fair enough.  But today's players don't get the benefit of steroids like the older ones.

Name a starter on the 98 defense that didn't play in the NFL.  IIRC, there is only one, Travis Ochs.  Almost the same on offense (2 I believe).  Gramatica kicking, Garcia punting.

JFC, 2012 is a good team, but in terms or talent, nowhere near that level.

A lot of those guys on the '98 team would not be good enough to play in the NFL today, though. That was 14 years ago.

Yes, it has been clearly pointed out that NBA greats from 14 years ago would not even make a team in 2012. NFL is probably just like that.

Yeah, not a lot of 37 year olds breaking into the NFL.
