Next the Jets trade 8 future first rounders for Jared Goff

Was just discussing with a friend, and we think it's a good move on the Rams part. We're both buzzed and idiots.

i mean i dunno anything and it's presumably all about valuing the picks vs the negative value of goff's contract but stafford isn't like, very good.

Stafford is 32. That trade is very puzzling to me.

The trade is about giving them a shot to win next year or the year after.  Shortish window with Donald and Ramsey as elite players. I think it’s a good move, though wonder what it would have taken to get Watson instead.

No way Houston would have taken Goff’s contract.

2 (!) first rounders + your previous 1st rd qb for 32 yr old Stafford is nuts. The rams already had like no draft capital

What is la's cap hit for this? I thought it was supposed to be like half the cap so it was basically impossible to trade Goff?

The Deshaun Watson stuff seems very odd and also very bad.

Yeah, he appears to be a real piece of work. Obviously no way they can get 13 different masseuses to fabricate claims. Very hard to believe any of them can "prove' this stuff, but I believe that their point is being made loud and clear.  Deshaun Watson is a predator.

Logistically very difficult to get 24 different people to fabricate the same sort of story.

Yes, but very weird that all 24 are represented by the same lawyer. May all be above board, just seems odd.

i am no lawyer but the symmetry of Watson finding these women thru Instagram then this lawyer using it to announce the case to the public and finding additional victims is remarkable to me

Yeah, I also don’t mean to call into question the story... if it’s true, they all must have the receipts (IG messages) from him contacting them. It seems bonkers than if you were just getting massages you wound need to get them from literally dozens of different women.  Just keep using the same one.  On the other hand if you’re sexually assaulting them, you probably don’t get repeat visits.

I'm team #believewomen, but something with this is odd, especially the lawyer stuff. The attorney is also friends with the Texans owner, is no one interested in the potential conflict of interest here?

Also the only IG message I've seen from him was Watson apologizing if he made whomever sent the message uncomfortable.

The way that lawyer operates is suspect.  Being friends with the owner is suspect but not necessarily in Watson's favor.  I would be just as willing to believe the Texans owner was covering these things up and then decided to go scorched earth and stopped.

Agree. Coincidentally it all happens within about 2 months of the Watson / Houston situation imploding beyond repair.

It smells funny because none of them went to the police.

How it works out great for the Texans is they can now go to him say 'look, there's no market for you because of this thing" and then they don't have to trade him and he plays instead of sitting out.

This is the LEAST troublesome thing to me.  Why would they go to the police?  Police couldn't do crap.  It's he said/she said, everyone knows that.  All that would do is make life horrible for you and you alone.

Nothing to see here.  Rodgers isn't going anywhere.
