Still pretty pissed that they ruled it not a catch. The part that bothers me is that the call on the field was overturned. If it was so conclusive that it wasn't a catch then why do so many people seem to disagree?

Had it been ruled incomplete by the official standing 5 feet away from the play then this situation would be much different.

The mechanism is horribly subjective, to the point that the refs would have been completely justified in ruling either way. FFS, the part of the rule that describes a "football move" contains "etc".

Yeah, the key difference between this one and the Calvin Johnson example is whether or not Bryant was making a football move (plus Johnson really only took 2 steps with the football). I think he was reaching for the pylon which should be a football move.

Oh well.  It's been a long time since I could go through an offseason feeling optimistic about the Cowboys' future.  They're built to be good for a while. So, there's that.

the "inconclusive evidence" thing is such a cop out.

idea: dont tell the replay booth (panel of 3 officials for EVERY game) what the call was on the field. have them vote on what they think the call should be and make it the call.

i hate how you have the prove the ruling on the field wrong. if they have to go to replay, it should mean the ruling on the field isnt adequate enough to make the right call. the rules need to change...
I think what my friend Mitch is trying to say is that true love is blind.

panel of 3 for every game meaning the same 3 officials do every game for the whole season for consistency.

The referee on the field makes the decision in the NFL. Gene Steratore did that all on his own yrsterday.

I also have a feeling Manning might be calling it quits.  That leaves the Chiefs in great position the next couple years to get to the playoffs (if Manning is done).

So the Broncos obviously have someone in mind for HC, right? No way they'd make this move without that. And I imagine John Fox getting the best job available, which would appear to be the 49ers.

Looks like John Fox is going to go to the Bears.  Both coordinators seems to be out as well.

Denver's UFA List:
Demaryius Thomas, wide receiver
Wes Welker, wide receiver
Jacob Tamme, tight end
Terrance Knighton, defensive tackle
Rahim Moore, safety
Orlando Franklin, guard/tackle
Nate Irving, linebacker
Quinton Carter, safety
Virgil Green, tight end
Julius Thomas, tight end
Will Montgomery, center
Mitch Unrein, defensive tackle

I am in the 2nd to last week of a pick 'em pool, who do you guys see as more likely to win, Seattle or New England?

Rodgers being gimpy makes me want to take Seattle.

Just my humble opinion, but I think they both win. Take Seattle tho.

Their current OC was going to get a head coaching job this off season... It will be him

We played the worst offensive game of our season and won. So fun to be a Hawks fan since all I know is rooting for overachieving Cats teams that ultimately choke in crucial moments.

With the potential retirement of Peyton Manning, Clark Hunt ordered the Chiefs Marketing Department to work up a "So you're sayin there's a chance" campaign for the 2015 season.   Mitch Holthus prepping for voice overs now.
