Are you as tired of routine extra point attempts as I am? Let's push it back to 43 yards instead!

I wish goEMAW would do this with shirts regarding players who transfer. Or Heisman campaign shirts for players who don't win the Heisman.

That was hard to watch.

The NFL is claiming they have never seen that video before, which I find hard to believe.  Roger Goodell should resign and the Ravens should cut Rice.

now that it's out, the NFL has to extend his ban, right?

Goodell is probably too busy covering his own ass on this to do anything timely. The Ravens should cut him, but they won't.

We can all agree that what he did was wrong and Rice deserves to be punished, so this is strictly from a business standpoint... How do you justify to your fanbase (approx 1/2 women) that you are willfully employing this guy?

I think you're overestimating the female portion of the fanbase, which probably has a lot to do with why everything is playing out the way it is.

I'd be interested to see how the NFL's performance metrics (things like TV ratings, game attendance, merchandise sales, etc.) have been impacted. Hardly at all, I imagine.

I think you are underestimating the % of NFL fans that are women... This article is from November 2013:http://www.forbes.com/sites/aliciajessop/2012/11/26/how-new-marketing-approaches-helped-the-nfl-achieve-triple-digit-growth-in-womens-apparel-sales/

Quote
In recent years, the league has seen women grow to become over 44 percent of its fan base, with 60 percent of females over the age of 12 identifying themselves as NFL fans.  Last season, 80 million women watched NFL games and roughly 310,000 women attended NFL games each weekend.

Not sure how many of you have SO's who cheer for the Ravens, but it's never too early to start Christmas shopping...

44% is larger than I anticipated. I wonder if there is a large portion of the fanbase that views this as a team issue, rather than a league issue.

Regardless, I see a lot of "outrage" on social media, but people still continue to consume the product.

I doubt this happens. Pressure would have to come from the owners and/or the players union.

He's cut - I just don't know what the video changes.  Did they not realize it takes violent hits to knock a woman out?

Agree with ChiCat. I have no idea wtf anyone was thinking before hand, but I guess have visual evidence forced people to actually have to consider it and not just gloss over that part? :dunno:

It will be interesting to hear John Harbaugh talk tonight and whether they claim to have seen the video before it went public or not.  It sounds like the NFL front office had seen it, but did they share it with the team or try to keep them in the dark?
