Landry Jones is resilient and determined
« on: September 24, 2012, 11:39:40 AM »
He's just such a great player for whom I have an enormous amount of respect.  There is no doubt in my mind he can pull OU together and they can still have a great and memorable season.

He ran into a buzz saw.  Reminds me a great deal of Carson Palmer, and his Heisman trophy winning season.

His shovel passes are the quickest released ones I have ever seen.  They guy is blindingly fast.

There is no shame in competing but coming up short against better competition.  I think hanging in there until the end is a real testament.  He could have Colt McCoy'd it and given in to the pain he was having inflicted on himself.

OBz really schemes for those Heisman winners/candidates.

Landry, it's not your fault that Bell can't receive a snap.  It basically tied your hands.  You can't be held responsible for Bell's ineptness.

Landry, now is the opportunity to better yourself by digging deep into the well of your soul and finding your personal Ark of the Covenant that will melt the faces off of the Nazis.  You can do it!

Landry, it's not our fault that they couldn't funnel any more stadium noise that what they did during the game Saturday night. Speakers are only made so big. If they would have been able to crank up that volume one or two more decibels, maybe the 'cats would not have made it on 3rd and 12. We all know that you would have been able to score if given another chance.

(Could you hear the stadium noise on TV? It was redic how loud and long they were running the noise through the speakers, sometimes inside of 15 seconds on the play clock.)

You did your part, Landry. 19 points against any other Big 12 opponent would have easily won the game.

Landry,

I know that you're not having a great couple of days.  First, you lose to a much more talented team (NOT YOUR FAULT!) and now you're getting death threats from your fans.  Keep your head up high, because tomorrow is a new day!  I mean, yeah, you still live in Norman and you will have to play @ Tech (where you guys always lose), but I think I can speak for all wildcat fans when I say, "Good luck, Landry!"

Jones did not lose this game, it was Blake Bell.  He looked petrified all night.
