Quote from: Super PurpleCat on November 13, 2012, 10:55:09 AMI'm guessing this is a regional SI cover and there will be similar ones for all the teams listed on the cover? So do some weeks they have a national cover and some weeks they have regional ones? I saw that Elijah Johnson was on the regional one (saw it posted, didn't see an actual magazine), but I think that was for last week.

Was Michael Beasley ever on the cover of SI? Is this our first player on a national cover?

This is national, dorks.
Quote from: WillieWatanabe on November 13, 2012, 10:35:57 AMIn November 2007, Kansas Jayhawks wide receiver Kerry Meier appeared on the cover, which stated "Dream Season (So Far)" after the Jayhawks were 11-0. In their next game they lost to their archrivals, the Missouri Tigers, 36-28, ending their perfect season.
Will never forget Kansas Statement.
Quote from: ksu_FAN on November 13, 2012, 11:47:24 AMWill never forget Kansas Statement.IIRC, Layden also did the Futility U story, plus an earlier feature in 98 (Frank Murphy catch against ISU was the pic), and a piece on Phil Bennett in 99.
Looney also did this piece in '92, because Wefald bitched at him.
Before Missouri was to play Kansas State last fall, Tiger coach Bob Stull, a little sick of all the hype surrounding the Wildcats, said, "We'll find out how much improvement they've made when we play them." Kansas State won 32-0.
I think the fact that the cover itself references the "SI Jinx" cancels it out
