Hate to be THAT guy, but we did not score a touchdown until the 4th qtr.  There's a lot of room for improvement - UTEP looked better on O than us vs OU through the first 3 qtrs.

Good TOP and only one 3-and-out, plus Doerr is a huge badass. The offense is good.

I understand and I agree that there is a lot of room for improvement, but I think the gameplan was to beat OU into submission and the run game would take over in the 4th quarter. I'll take 0 offensive TD's, 3 FG and a defensive TD going to the 4th quarter while down by 3 (13-10 OU) while nabbing 3 turnovers.

The 4th quarter showed that OU's defense was worn down and couldn't make the stop after getting manhandled at the point of attack.

OU had 2 weeks to prepare for us. They pulled out every stop. Not concerned about our play in that game.

We had just as many total yards of Offense as OU.

Snyder played it conservative because thats what snyder does. There was no need to show more than we had to while we had the lead or were only down 3. We simply ran our basic offense with a couple of wrinkles and it worked.

That last drive, where we needed to kill 4 minutes was simply a thing of bueaty.

We already won the KU game.  Nate on 810 was saying this morning that he flew back with the KU team Sat and that they were all watching us play OU.

They know whats up.

There was no need to show more than we had to while we had the lead or were only down 3.

People need to quit saying this.  We absolutely would have shown anything and everything we had ready if we thought it would help us score more.  Do people actually think that we wouldn't have tried to score more points than we did? We were an unconverted 3rd and 11 from giving OU the ball with 2 minutes left down by less than a TD.

But then our shitty offense converted a third down.  And then they converted another.  They do whatever they need to do to win.  Every effing time.

It was the perfect game plan.  Get the game to the 4th quarter with a chance to win.

We can't get into track meets with anybody like OU.  Appreciate the punt, don't turn the ball over, set up plays for later in the game.   Keep the game ugly and disjointed.   Teams like OU want a pretty game, they want to play teams that come out and snap the ball with 15 seconds on the play clock and who chuck the ball all over the place.

That's fine, but it's not like Snyder had all these different, "less vanilla" (whatever the eff that means) plays that he could have run so that we could run to beat OU by 4 TDs but instead didn't run them so we didn't show those plays to future opponents.

When it was fourth down and inches and we weren't even across the 50 yet.  My wife wondered whether we would go for it and I stated that Bill was more conservative than Glenn Beck.  So glad I was wrong.

Its called passing the ball more than 10 yards down the field. We rarely did this as we didnt need to.

We didn't pass down the field because we aren't good at passing down the field. Not because we didn't need to. If passing down the field was as effective as the offense we ran, we would have passed down the field.

No, we didn't do it because we aren't as good at it as we are at other things, and it doesn't give us a better chance of winning than not doing it.  We did attempt to go downfield a few times, especially early, with no success.
