also the big top 50 from fresno.

underdog, i'm glad you like foster.  i don't discount that he might be much better than his rating.    i felt the same way about ar-t, it certainly can happen.  i don't think all of weber's kstate recruits are better than their ratings, however.  cartier martin was a fantastic player, and he never won crap, because one good player isn't close to enough.

one of the previous posters expressed it perfectly.  weber's kstate recruits are objectively worse than his iu recruits.  and he got fired from that job.  i don't consider the totality of his recruiting to be particularly encouraging, or reason to revisit my thoughts on his hire.  this thread seems as good a place to express those thoughts as any.

Weber has also has moved his recruiting base, so it going to take some time for him to adjust. I believe this to be a good thing. I am not fan of the talent the Big Lake Area/ Upper midwest produces. I will take Texas Athletes(Brooks) and Prep school ballers(Chet) over the overrated crap produced in the Big Ten Area.

Landing Foster, a potential difference maker, at least gives Weber's recruiting some optimism. I'm not going to piss on that.

Not sure how my rants about Foster in the "Welcome Marcus Foster" thread were misconstrued into "we will now be great thanks to this 1 player" but I guess it did.

No kidding it takes more than 1. I'm stressing optimism and momentum. Foster could average 20 per game and we could still suck. That's not my point and it never was.

Foster's commit proves this staff can land a solid to potentially very good player. Hopefully, his commitment will open the door to landing more good players. We will need them.

I'll bitch about Weber in other threads.  This thread is about Hooray for a recruit I not only don't hate, but like even.

The first thing is that Hustle & Flow will be the centerpiece of the Web Five.  The second thing is that the first thing is a good thing.

Also, ESPN has been in a process of changing their rating system from something that was total garbage into something useful.

I like that our TX recruiter just landed a solid TX recruit.  Like football, we need to be pulling from TX on a consistent basis.  I do like the JYC types from NYC and DC too, though.

I agree, this is a solid point. Weber said he was going to focus on recruiting TX, find a recruiter, and land kids from the state. There is a long way to go, but landing Foster is a good sign that at least he has gotten off to a good start there.

It's like he landed Nick Russell only this was his first choice. And Nick wasn't bad at all.

I do think that SR Angel and SO Foster have the potential to be a pretty salty backcourt.  With SRs Diaz, Gip and Nino in the front court...might be another year of good basketball.   :bball:

This is going to get the team #burnitdown/#butthurt bunch in a frenzy, but so far chicken nuggets without coaching a game, hasn't hurt us. The 2012 class was so last second and reports are that Johnson might be decent, so we might of hit one at the buzzard there. 2013, Foster is a steal, and the jury is still out on Etherington. Everyone hated him for getting kicked out of a game in summer ball, but if that was Frank, team #jerkhimoff would be in full force. I'm just saying give him a chance. I will hate him when he gives me something to hate him for, minus his dorky exterior. Until then, my hate resides with Currie.

No one hates him for what he's done at K-State.  No one hated him for getting kicked out of a game in summer ball.  Everyone who hates him now has hated him since he got hired.

Gross.  Not his daughters, but the thought of Weber siring anyone.  Positive those are somebody else's kids.  Good looking out for the the rest of the world's future by Weber's wife there.  No great feat though.  They could have come out black or Asian and Weber would have been none the wiser.  He thinks the rough ridin' stork brought them.  Her toughest choice was between that and saying she harvested them from a cabage patch, except then Weber would have never stopped trying to find it.  Good call in retrospect.

I mean, I hate him/the hire as much as anybody.  The getting booted form brazil and Foster thing are both positives though.  Still hate him though, just not going to try to make any positives into negatives as my first goal is for KSU to be ridiculously successful.  If that can happen without my second goal of getting rid of Currie/Weber, awesome.
