it's very obvious that some posters here so badly want oscar to be good, that they are willing to completely overlook the stupid stuff he does and says and play it off like he's just being "passionate". it kind of makes you wonder if the entire tenure of oscar being our  head basketball coach is going to be like this with them rationalizing and downplaying every absolute stupid thing he says and does to the point that we won't ever be able to have any real discussion. because if so, woof.

I don't want oscar to be good.  I want our team to be good - and if they win games I don't give a single flying eff what stupid stuff oscar does.  Pretty simple.  I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt until he fails.  What choice do I have?  He's been hired, Frank was pushed out, and nothing is ever going to change this. 

If he doesn't win this year - I'll be on team #burnitdown
If he misses the postseason next year - I'll be on team #burnitdown
If he goes to consecutive NITs - I'll be on team #burnitdown. 

Until these ^ things happen, yes I will support our coach and team and hope for the best.  I took the same position with Snyder.  Gave him a chance and glad I did.

Hirschi plays in the Caprock Classic in Lubbock in December I think.  They did last year anyway.

We are taking our squad there again this season, so hopefully I will get to catch him play in between our games.  Not sure if this is possible, however, since the tourney is played at several different sites.

Will report back late December.

I get people not liking Weber or Currie or whatever. I don't get trying to downplay landing a pretty solid recruit. Is this what it's going to be like after all our wins this year? because, woof. at some point you have to wonder if people want to be right about Weber more than they want to win basketball games.

like, I think Weber is going to suck ass in a couple years. However, I'm going to really hope he doesn't.

Obviously, the fear/concern that's driving negative posting, not buying tickets, etc. is the middle ground between winning like we've been accustomed to the last 5 years and sucking ass, and residing in that middle ground for the foreseeable future following this upcoming season.

In a few years, when wins in the last few games may be the difference between an NIT and more chicken nuggets vs. the thing being burnt to it's final ashes, eff yeah, go whoever's playing the cats that night.
