Arizona State jumped from 15 to 9 with a 19-16 win over rough ridin' Utah?  C'mon.   

Alabama's best win is against #21 A&M who we now know is hot garbage.

I think teams frequently get a bit generous of a bump in rankings if it means their next matchup will look a little more shiny to the average college football fan flipping through channels trying to decide which game to watch.

exactly.  if we crap down our leg in the coming weeks, we are who they thought we were.  if we win out, the rankings will have no choice but to reflect that.

I don't either, so I don't post in those threads or read them that much. Granted, this one has some of that because of the nature of the overall rankings, but whatever. FTR, I have never said anything about SEC bias, and I won't, b/c I mostly think its dumb.

But I also think this ridiculous "eye test" criteria is dumb and I will post about that.

i think it comes down to our fanbase wanting to enjoy discussing our team being in the playoffs, while we still have a chance to be in the playoff
