Inside the game with kim carnes: week 2 matchup preview/look ahead
« on: September 02, 2012, 02:55:22 PM »
here is an interesting tidbit for everyone to ponder.  Last year on nov. 25th, the miami hurricanes (our week 2 opponent) lost @ home 24-17 to BC (boston college) in their final game of the season.  Now fast forward 10 months, the miami hurricanes just beat BC by a score of 41-32.  From that, you can deduct that over the offseason miami has made significant strides as a football team.  Last year we needed a goal line stand just to beat them, so where does that leave us?  your guess is as good as mine, but it looks to me like we could be in trouble, but then again maybe not.  just keep in mind that the very same miami team that lost at home to BC at the end of last year by 7, won by 9 yesterday, on the road no less.  that is a 16 point turnaround over the offseason.

also, sorry about not doing week 1.

Boston College isn't as good this year.  KSU improved by 41 points over our season opener last year.  41 - 16 = 25.  So by your logic we win by 25, minus maybe the home difference of 6, so let's just round to 20.

So you really think we'll win by 20?  Gutsy call Kim, we'll see how it works out.

how can one "deduct" that Miami has improved based on playing a Boston College team that lost their stud LB?  We didn't lose ours, did we?  So, basically, if we "deduct" then we only take into account Miami and completely ignore whether BC's better/worse than last season or whether KSU is better/worse than last season.  Or something like that.
Academics is a stupid word.

Academic schools are synonymous for being rich, powerful and exclusive, three things Kansas State is not.

So when people throw the word "academics" around, that's really what they are referencing.

Miami's best player is number 17.
K-State's best player is number 7.

Hurricanes by 10.  If y'all need any help explaining how I came to this conclusion, pm me.  I used a lot of sound deductive reasoning to come up with this line.

If Miami were smart, they should attack Chapman and our LB's with the passing game.

They threw the ball 45 times at BC but only averaged 4.6 yards per reception.

Kim Carnes is officially too smart for this place.

Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008

I think Miami should actually win by 13. #life

Most of you have used inductive reasoning (not deductive).   :dubious:
