I left Florida out because we can not reasonably talk smack on Florida in anything. Just impossible.  :(

As a general rule, it seems as if the UNT posters on gomeangreen are pretty shitty.

There are a couple good ones...one dumbass over there thinks we have only had two 1000 point players in our history...

Don't hate on North Texas fans, my Rocky Top friends.

Last I'd heard, Larry Bird graduated a loooooooong time ago. He's not going to be able to save your team on Thursday.

Besides, it's only natural that our fans might be a little cocky. I don't know if you guys have ever looked into the history of 2 vs. 15 seeds... Let's just say it doesn't paint a pretty picture for you.

If it makes you feel any better, Johnny Jones is a very classy guy. He's not the type to run up the score on a beaten opponent.

I certainly don't hate UNT.  My comments are no reflection of your great institution, just the very boring posters (excepting you of course) on gomeangreen.  If the good posters there are hidden, be sure to rustle them out and invite them over here.

If I know my North Texas history, that was back in the 01-02 season. I'm not saying that we're going to destroy your team and sow the Manhattan soil with salt, but I will say that our basketball program has really evolv...

Wait... You guys are a public education institution in the state of Kansas, right? I should probably avoid using that word; I don't want to cost your school any state funding or get anyone in any legal trouble.

The team and the program have "e-word"-ed tremendously since then. That was actually JJ's first year as a head coach. Took over a team coming off multiple 20-loss seasons and put them over .500 that year.

Since then, things have improved by leaps and bounds. This year gave us a 4th consecutive 20-win season for the first time in school history (just like you guys... milestone high five!) and Johnny has doubled our school's postseason appearances in the past 4 years alone.

Part of the fun of the Johnny Jones era has been getting to witness the "e-word" of Mean Green basketball from despair to respectability to the cusp of what may be something very, very special. He's been our Intelligent Designer, and witnessing his Creationism at work has been a fun ride.

Is he a SLTH, or is he a dirty(good) recruiter? If he is a SLTH, then you may lose him to Nebraska or Iowa State in a year or so...

Is he a Sith? I don't get it.

I'm not sure what SLTH stands for, but JJ is pretty much the closest thing to the second coming you can imagine. No shady recruiting, no lax standards. Twice during this 4 year run, he's suspended or outright cut from the team essential players over disciplinary issues. One of the reasons never even made the news, so it's not like he was doing it for PR reasons or to avoid criticism... If he'd let the guy slide, nobody would have ever known the player had done anything wrong in the first place.

He goes out of his way to share the spotlight with former b-ball coaches, he talks up the program history and works with kids and other community programs... We're really blessed to have him, and it's depressing to think that we're almost certainly going to lose him at some point between the next two months to two years.

He's already on the radar at Auburn, and if the LSU job opens up in the near future, he'd probably be at the top of their list given his success and his history in Baton Rouge.

I'm not sure what SLTH stands for...

SLTH = Solid long-term hire

Term of derision popular around these parts since we fired the definition of the term in Jim Wooldridge a few years back, yet still see numerous programs making the same mistake elsewhere (ISU, Nebraska, Colorado, etc.).  We mock their misery.
