Did some research on your basketball team...
« on: March 15, 2010, 12:03:07 AM »
Looks like you guys were pretty tough to handle back in the 50's.

Of course, so were polio, smallpox, and minorities who wanted decent public education.

I'm sure you guys will play fine against us. Any school can have a 35 year conference championship drought... I wouldn't worry about it. And I saw on Wikipedia that you retired a jersey in honor of Jack Parr. Personally, I think Johnny Carson was better. But, take what you can get as far as alumni go.

Not every school can say they were home to Meat Loaf. SCOREBOARD.

Pretty solid analysis there.

Jack Parr is NOT even close to as funny as Johnny.  He's pretty rough ridin' unfunny, actually.

Hey, Haverhill, guess what?  You've been bumped.  This guy is the best non-ksu/ku poster here.  Sorry, bro.

Glad to make your day. North Texas fans can be hard to find... It's been 5 rough years of football. We have secret meetings, like the Illuminati. But with more crying.

Unless you know where to look for us, Mean Green fans can be tougher to find than K-State Sweet 16 banners from the 90's and 2000's.

We have as many sweet 16 banners from the 90's as you have D1 wins in the 90s.....

Now now, that's not true. Let's not go making things up or telling lies.

That would be like me saying Kansas is filled with nothing but goofy looking white people. Which totally isn't true, because I saw a Mexican guy with my own two eyes when we drove up for our last football game in Manhattan.

I guess it could have just been a really TAN goofy looking white guy... But I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt.

If we manage the upset, I hope you'll remember his spirit and keep it holy.

Loved UNT when I lived in Dallas because that's where all the hot dumb chicks went to college.

To answer some questions...

1) I'm Greek ethnically. As in "Mount Olympus", not "mount a sorority chick after you GHB her drink".

2) I'm not the biggest donor in school history, and I probably exhausted my connections just to get the 3 tickets we put in for yesterday. You're on your own for tickets. I may be the only message board poster/blog proprietor in D-1 athletics history who can say that their school's SID called their boss and (arguably) tried to get them fired, AND had their AD contact the university attorney to investigate the possibility of a lawsuit. We're all friends again, I think... But you can probably do a lot better than having me try to pull strings to get you tickets.

3) I never got to meet Coach Gennaro. After I got caught up in that bar fight defending Scott Bakula, the crusty old dean had me expelled. It wasn't until he got his comeuppance that I was able to re-enroll, and by then, Coach Gennaro had to retire due to heart problems.

I'm flattered by the warm welcome you guys are giving me. It's nice to meet fans of a school that can appreciate playing the premiere basketball program in the state of Texas.

Greek Guy:  Are you George Dunham in real life?  If so, why won't you let Nigel come stay with you at Dunham manor?  That's BS.
