There was probably some bad person congressmen who made them switch to black and white to cut costs by a couple hundred dollars.

just color everything in red and its fine.
plus think about it. you want something that gives you plenty of data/good observations, but nothing too complicated. these cameras that are black and white are just nav cams for the engineers. they dont need perfect color photos for maneuvering a rock. the other cams will have the pictures we wanna see, though

It would also help if NASA were allowed to promote itself. Currently the only government entity that can advertise is the military.

It's impressive because we launched a spacecraft and landed it on something that is 350 million miles away, moving at about 53,000 mph, and spinning at over 500 miles per hour.  Except for a couple small adjustments, the spacecraft was coasting, unpowered, meaning that we only had to make a couple small adjustments to hit our target from when we launched it.  We landed within a couple meters of where we were aiming for.  Over incomprehensible millions of miles, we missed by a few feet.  The degree of difficulty is about a million times what it was to land on the moon.  I mean, I know you are joking, but on the off chance that you aren't, you need to be smacked.

In 2010, the U.S. military budget was $663.85 billion. That means that in one year, the military spent $137.67 billion more than NASA has in more than 50.

NASA is barely a drop in the bucket. It should be at least a cupful.

NASA's Curiosity rover has zapped its first Martian rock, aiming its laser for the sake of science.

During the target practice on Sunday, Curiosity fired 30 pulses at a nearby rock over a 10-second window, burning a small hole.

Curiosity's social media team made a reference to Austin Powers when it tweeted, "Yes, I've got a laser beam attached to my head. I'm not ill-tempered; I zapped a rock for science." Then it signed off "#PewPew," a nerd reference to the sound lasers make when discharged.
