Quote from:  Bender Concussions
He had two in a row in a short period of time and the second one was so serious they had to induce a coma for a couple days. That was just last year and he got it playing basketball.  So yes, that is definitely an issue.  One more and he could be finished for good, especially what they now know about concussions and long term affects.

This brings our QB situation down from deep and talented to just talented. What if those Sams grumblings had been true? We'd have been absolutely mumped at QB again.

I saw a movie about this guy who got like 7 concussions a game and he seemed pretty stupid. I don't think we should allow that to happen to our quarterbacks!
I think what my friend Mitch is trying to say is that true love is blind.

Well what do you think, loser? That we should play our concussion QB's until their brains turn to mush? Dumb idea.

It's times like this where you understand the ying/yang aspect of insidery knowledge that people feed this board.  It's not always what we want to hear, is it?  No, it is not.

Also, what kind of maniac gets a concussion playing basketball for recreation?  Jesus, do what we do, Bender.  Jack up a three then casually walk to the other end of the court for some "defense," then repeat.

we should get him that weird double helmet thing like that jayhawk fulback dude from the mid-90s used to wear

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Why is he on the team if we can't put him in harms way?

I'm confident that if we are continuing to let him play QB for the KSU Cats, then we will let him do whatever a KSU Cat QB would do.  If he drops back to pass, gets laid the eff out, and his head whiplashes against the turf he could still get a concussion.  If we are super worried about his concussions, he won't play at all, and it won't affect whether we use the QB running game.
:adios:

Hey, this wasn't insidery at all! We all just missed it.

Quote
LINCOLN, Neb. -- Tay Bender doesn't know who shot the free throws in his place. Come to think of it, he's not even sure the officials called a foul.

Bender remembers only leaping for a rebound and taking an elbow between the eyes.

He woke up a day later in the hospital, removed from a medically induced coma after sustaining a second concussion during a stretch of several days in the winter of 2010.

"The unknown in that situation is the worst part," said Dave Gillespie, athletic director at Bender's Lincoln Southwest High School. "It's pretty scary."

Being this guys roommate could be fun.  I mean, do whatevs you want and then deny it and blame his anger, sadness, confusion, etc on his concussions.

I would constantly rearrange his bedroom when he is gone and deny any involvement.

Until he leaves a pot of ramen on high and goes to practice and burns that effer down.

I didn't say it was a perfect plan, but I am pretty sure the rewards would outweigh the risk.  I mean, this guy isn't some dork that hikes back and forth to Cardwell, he's a QB for the WildWildCats.
