The new part of the rec opened this morning. Probably between double and triple the amount of cardio equipment. Weight room seemed nice and the new basketball courts look good. Lots of New Year's Resolutioner's were there this morning. Only complaint is that water fountains seem few and far between.

I've spent quite a bit of time there between 6-7 AM, and today was the busiest for that time proud that I've ever seen.

Bid package out for West Memorial Stadium renovation. This is not the Welcome Center (that is entire east side)...but something completely different. Looks like the south half of the west side is getting renovated. Looks to be a small auditorium for the fine arts.....ticket office, concessions, dressing rooms, etc.

So what's going on with west stadium (Memorial Stadium). They've been at it for over a month now I'd say. First they gutted the whole thing and now they have scaffolding on each castle tower thing. It also appears that they knocked out several turrets near the south castle tower thing. What gives?

They are relocating the Purple Masque Theatre from the east side to the west side. Limestone is a porous rock that needs replaced periodically.

I don't know a lot of details, but it looks to be moving along. There is a lot more steel up than what is in the photo. Their last web update (http://bluemonthotel.com/blog/) is from Dec. 11.

The best part about this is they got rid of the timed stoplights and now allow traffic to go more than one direction at a time.

It's actually a wood framed hotel (like a house) built ontop of a steel pedestal about 12ft up. Very weird imho
