That's what I've been saying for a while. 8man and I discussed sometime this past year between season 5A and 5B. Although she compares herself to Betty Draper, which makes no sense because Betty has lots of terrible qualities besides "being in the way" of the protagonist.

I have hated Anna Gunn in everything she's ever done. Her voice is nails on a chalkboard and her cry face is horrifying.

Aside from that, skylar is an easily hated character. I never once felt the same hate towards carmella or Betty (maybe Janice, but you're supposed to hate her). The whole people don't like strong women characters thing is bullshit.

Well, I never hated Skyler, but I think I hate Anna Gunn now. What a bullshit op-ed. A whole lot of drivel about how "people hate strong women" without one single mention of the real reason most people dislike Skyler: she mumped Ted. She didn't just cheat in a moment of weakness, she deliberately mumped Ted as revenge against her husband.

Maybe there is a double standard when it comes to adultery for men and women, but this isn't really about that here. Skyler used sex as a weapon to get revenge, and that's about as despicable as you can get.

Sure, but if this was real life, who would you consider a worse person? One of, if not the biggest meth dealer in America, who has poisoned a kid, organized the death of 10 people in a 2 minute span, killed a former business partner out of spite, etc, or someone who cheated on their husband after said husband had been up to something and refused to reveal what it was after multiple attempts to find out?

I hate skyler because she's a completely unlike able character (up until last episode) and poorly acted IMO. I mean maybe there's someone out there who feels threatened because she portrays a "strong woman" (don't know if I agree with that assertion), but just no. also, is there truthfully a single person who was ok with her at the beginning of the show and then hated her after the Ted thing? because that sounds made up

This is pretty good. I really don't care about the ted stuff, I just wanted to use shaking fist guy.

Tobias is also right, I didn't like skylar from the beginning, but maybe that was my Anna Gunn bias.

Stand by the strong woman is bullshit line tho. Look at game of Thrones, that show is full of bad ass strong women, and no one hates any of them. Same with Carrie on homeland (another ugly crier).
