I have been extremely excited about Lucas for some time, and I'm really happy he'll get a shot.  He has NFL potential from a physical makeup standpoint.  I mean the guy is absolutely enormous.

I'm going to defer to Hatter for that analysis.  I don't get into that level of detail.

I agree about Lucas. If I remember correctly, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Lucas was Snyder's first commitment since his return.

So, forgive my retardedness, but why didn't we just release Foketi and give his scholarship to Luc?

You can only have 25 scholarships for any incoming class. We would have had to convince one of our current recruits to grayshirt to get Luc.

I agree with not releasing Foketi, FWIW. We paid his tuition while he wasn't playing and went to the effort to secure a medical redshirt for him. Had he been honest with the coaching staff last season after getting injured, he wouldn't have a year of eligibility left, anyway.

i don't think the luc stuff is because of overall scholarship limit but more due to specific class scholarship limit or something like that.
