Chile Rojo (pork) was a stand out today. Definitely going back for dinner pre-Mae's trivia-pak.

I went once today already too. The girl I was with as able to confirm that the burritos are good too. I'm still stuck on tacos, but for $4, the burrito is a great deal. We need to have a talk with these people about raising their prices so they will be able stay in business longer.

also the store is hilariously awesome, the bathroom had a sign that said dont flush paper towels or toilet paper down the toilet and it was pretty much all mexican ppl in there so you know its good!

so...i had to go to wamego tuesday night and what did i see? a mother rough ridin' la hacienda staring at me.

The manhattan one is a general partnership of 3 people and doesn't appear to include any operations other than the manhattan location. It was established in march 2010 however so they may have expanded. The 2 non-mhk'rs though are from council grove, at least back in 2010.

ok, from my research it appears like la hacienda is the mexican restaurant equivalent to the last name of smith. the "it's a chain" myth is now debunked. shocking that super white omaha suburb resident steve dave jumped at the chance to vilify a couple of small town kansas underdogs trying to make something of themselves by opening a restaurant and serving food from the heart.

oh man, they have real sugar in the coke, it comes in real glass bottles. you have to try it.

they also have this red sauce stuff, onions, peppers, etc. i think they call it "salsa"? put it on your tacos, you'll love it!

yeah, this is where I always go for authentic mexican. you can get fantastic real mexican food like tongue and brain tacos. not poser stuff. Oh, yes, I'll have the car-ni-tas taco combo with chips and sal-sa and a coke in a glass bottle. thanks. like I was saying, this place is the only place I'll go. carnitas is mexican for pork btw. mexican word from old mexico.

oh man. i was down on southwest blvd the other day eating at tacos and beans, etc and then was like, i can't even imagine eating a taco with a flour shell. then i told the manager of the place that they should put a sign outside their restaurant that had a big red X over a picture of a flour shell. who eats flour shells? gringos.

rough ridin' gringos killing the real crap.

Click that link and read the reviews. The middle one from WESTMORELAND, KS hated it. She called it the "worst Mexican joint we've ever been to." She is from frickin' Westmoreland, how many other Mexican joints has she been to?

The other two reviews were probably goemawers. They gave it 5*'s.

The 3 owners average 3.67 words per name, which makes them pretty authentic mexicans, IMO.

yeah, I'd eat that brain taco in a second. would be much better than anything from some non-authentic place. I don't feel like brain tacos today though. might go with a number 4 combo with beans and a salsa sampler.

hur hur hur. i'm stevedave and this is my friend pissclams. we live in two of the larger cities in the united states so we'll do things like make fun of the new mexican restaurant that manhattanites are excited about. hahaha manhattan and your dinky town with only one major airline flying in and out. hur hur ha ha. we live in large cities, high five.
