Had a company wide last month. 6000ish in our address book.

"Hey this isn't work  related. What's your favorite music? I love metal."

I wonder if that warehouse dude is still employed. There we're several replies to all as well. Gotta love it.

I kept track of the ratio for a while.  It was very predictably 10% of the total addressees who would reply to all with a don't reply to all message.

I'm going to experiment tomorrow from a coworkers computer and see if this ratio holds true.  About 150 people in the office.

Occasionally we will get those huge email chains, and a friend reply to just a few of us with something snarky, and I enjoy replying back to them "Hey, did you mean to reply all with that message?!?!"

Really freaks them out.

It's even better when you paste in the entire email group down below in the email chain so it really looks like they did reply to all on accident.

UPDATE


This whole fiasco rolled over to Monday morning with another fantastic stream of "Unsubscribe" emails.

IT deleted all of the emails that contained the original title so I am unable to get you guys a final tally of emails, but there were at least 300 emails sent out in reply all fashion about this.

There were over 6 MILLION emails sent out between Friday and Monday.

People are so awesome.

Veterans Day brought a barrage of Reply To All. Company wide. IT dudes had to be moaning.

We now have 11000+ in the address book.

Guy at my company a few years ago hit a reply all on an email from the CEO wrote the most brown nosing email the CEO asking him what his favorite soccer team was and if the CEO was interested in some SKC tix and whatnot. Another guy at work now brings in doughnuts on the anniversary of said email every year just because it was that awesome. It's probably the best email at my work/aftermath ever. Though it did end up working out for Mr. Brown nose in the long run. He's now a pretty decent PM level job and not doing too bad, so I guess good for him.
