But back to Missouri. Is there been a program that's found more success through smoke and mirrors than they have? They pop up and have a nice win here or there, but basically beat mediocre to bad teams and then get completely embarrassed in conference championship games. Then they go play a mediocre team in a bowl, sometimes that team even has an interim coach, they win and then declare themselves the greatest ever.

What comes first, an MU Football Conference Championship, or the 50th anniversary of their last one??

Missouri's best season in school history got them to the Cotton Bowl! SEC East is an easier path to a conference championship than big 12 north ever was.

So they list the official capacity of Faurot Field at 71,168 and they averaged 65,000 a game last year.

So let me get this straight. They just won the SEC East, which according to MU fans is the greatest sporting achievement in U.S. history and Gary Pinkel is the greatest football mind since Bill Walsh. They have like 30,000 students in Columbia, they're the only D1 football school in a state of 6 million people, and on average 6,000 seats a game are empty. Not to mention even when they have good basketball teams they consistently have thousands of empty seats at MU arena.

I just looked it up and you have to go back to 1945 to find an MU Conference Championship that wasn't shared or has an asterisk by it (1960 was retroactively awarded to them after KU was caught stealing cookies from the cookie jar).

Must be awful to look down the highway and see Titletown, USA.
