That was great. Great Britain had the silver and then Japan said "Nope, denied, here's a hundy!" and the score was over turned. Japan silver in men's gymnastics and GB fell to bronze.

If I were a gymnastics judge, I would just make shitty calls left and right so all the teams would have to pay me a whole lot of money to review them, then I would deny their appeals so I wouldn't have to give the money back.

Yeah, but if I were judging and saw that they only handed me $100, I would laugh in their poor faces. This is the olympics after all. They could either hand me a stack of benjamins, or GTFOOMF. I would hand them their denial with a smile.

I thought the same thing. Supposedly the fee is designed to discourage "capricious" challenges. But $100? I assume one of the gymnasts shook that out of somewhere indecent in the lockers. That's couch change.

The Olympic guy that originally suggested this deterrent did so knowing that there was no rough ridin' way it would be accepted and enacted.  Same guy was blown the eff away when it passed without issue.  True story.  look it up.

Now that guy routinely shakes down any and all individuals needing anything from him.  Also, he constantly is telling people to "Deal with it".

He is now a biz strategy consultant for several alleged active mob families.
