Saul told me the other day that one can get great deals last-minute on cruises because they want the boats filled. I'm sure that's what happened, and KSU was fine with him taking some time off during the offseason and with nothing big going on.

i wonder what kind of leave he used. comp? vacation? sick? did he have to use leave at all? maybe some young bloodthirsty up and coming journalist could put in a request to find out?

i would guess that most journalists already know the answer to your question. the problem though, is that if they share the information that they've obtained, then everyone knows the information. i call this, the journoconundrum. also known as, the wallace factor.

Rick, is this something that can be done with a Google search? What if they don't return phone calls?

Where are all these blood thirsty youngsters that will not play the game with the integrity that Wallace came up with? The generation that hangs out at clubs instead of sitting around, drinking aged scotch, and talking about when the world was simpler and journalists took pride in their work? One of those guys should get to the bottom of this and tweet whats going on

I think the implication is that it would be an odd time for an AD to choose to be on vacation

I think it unlikely that he was assigned to go on a cruise. It seems more likely that he didn't want to deal with some of the backlash.

That's a good point. I'd say about 75% of the times that I eff something up at work and know that everyone's going to be super-pissed at me, I call up Carnival and get on the first ship out.

Come to think of it, it does seem like a rather odd time to leave your office for a two weeks vacation, with the finish to the calender sports year right around the corner and all.
