dude is locking up KC recruiting as we speak.  Though I hear Pinkel and Snyder know good locksmiths.

Academics is a stupid word.

Academic schools are synonymous for being rich, powerful and exclusive, three things Kansas State is not.

So when people throw the word "academics" around, that's really what they are referencing.

I was just thinking about Snyder's locksmithing in Kansas City.

I know he got Sproles twelve years ago.  Who have been the others?

Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008

So, Fanning, you were saying....
So i'm working one of his games right? He use to do some radio for 610, but was awful, so we canned him back in the day. This was before I was working there. 610 comes to me and they were like: "Fanning, we want you to cover the Miege game this Friday night, if they win, They're in the state championship". I'm like omg, here's my big break. Then the program director said: "oh ya, fanning. One more thing. We need you to call grunny and get an interview with him before the game". I'm like: "No big deal, I do this all the time". Well apparently I didn't realize he pretty much destroyed an office at entercom when he was fired. So here's the rookie trying to call grunny and get the deets for the game. Grunny doesn't answer, doesn't return calls, and doesn't email back. Well it gets to the big game and they win. I'm like  omg I just had the call of my life, i'm going to go down to the field and get some audio from grunny, he must be excited. What does he do? WHAT DOES HE DO, YOU ASK? "Coach, Heath Fanning here with 610 sports, congratulations, how do you feel?" Grunny: "Oh your the guy! (slaps recorder out of my hand) Get out of my way, i've got bigger fish to talk to. Move along and get out of my way".

So bottom line of the story, why does fanning take PI'ing so well? I've been PI'd my whole life, bring it bitches.... Also, you don't know how hard it is to be an honest journalist in today's world you guise.

A reporter who may not have realized he just did some reporting.  You report hard and well, fanning.

btw, Grunny's recruiting pitch to Trent Hosick when he visited KU was to have a liftin contest against him.  Hosick will now be lifting weights at Mizzou.

In addition to Fanning's story, I one time watched him pick up an opposing player (Former ND linebacker Brian Smith) by the facemask and verbally berate him about being a piece of crap.  Said something about being embarassed that he got a scholie offer to his alma mater because Brian did a sack dance or something.

Sometimes you have to get him drunk first and pretend you're hosting a game show.
