She loved it! Liked it way better than the normal Texas BBQ that we have here.

I'll recommend you not go to V's. I'd always hear about it growing up so finally one day went out there, it is disgusting.

I have lived in Independence for two years now. Places i frequent are Tim’s Pizza (Cash or Check only) which is off of Highway 40 on the way to Cable Dahmer.
The Courthouse Exchange is downtown Independence proper but their service has been slow the last few times I have been but I have never been on a Saturday night.
Saints Pub is also close/just across the highway and has decent food. Its the same restaurant as the one in Olathe/Lenexa area if you have been to that one.

Might be worth it to go the extra mile or two down the road to Blue Springs. Would recommend Brewers or East Forty Brewing before the show. Both local and good food/brews.

I will also be at the show! Im very excited for it.

People love Waldo Thai but I've always thought it was good/not great and ultra expensive/hard to get into.

I'm a Thai House boi.

I disagree with you on Waldo Thai but I will be trying Thai House now at some point.  I've always gotten a reservation pretty easily, had great servers who will explain whatever, and loved the food.  I've even enjoyed things that I would never order myself but tasted from someone else, which is always good sign for me.

Yeah I like Waldo Thai and think the service has been good and the food has been good.  I'm jsut not really enamored with it.  Probably too fancy for my basic bitch thai pallet.

Slow Rise donuts is opening a brick and mortar. They were excellent at their pop ups but certainly not worth 2 hour waits every time you wanted some.

V's is a name I haven't heard of in forever. My parents used to LOVE going there for brunch for some reason and then we would hit up cool crest across the street after.  :gocho:

Ended up going to Jim's Alley Bar before (and after) the show. I had the Italian Beef/Sausage sandwich with hot peppers dipped. It was the best Italian Beef I've had outside of Chicago. Brunched at Char Bar in the AM and had the Burnt Heaven
