So yesterday I did what any pak'r needs to do when going to Kansas City, actual Kansas City, not Johnson County or the northland. I broke bread with the Godfather 'sclams and got his blessing to grace his fine city. It was amazing dining with the clams clan, great people, but we all knew that already.
We ate at Q39. I had ribs, sausage, fries, and baked beans. The food was awesome, much better than most overrated KC Q. It's certainly isn't a place you go to grab a half a slab on Saturday and dig in and get sloppy while watching the Q@ts, but it was great nonetheless. My wife had a pork belly sandwich. The pork belly was sliced into pieces that I'd describe as the thickness of thick bologna. The pork belly had the fat but was crispy and was fantastic, they also put an apple slice in the sando.
