Yes, quit concentrating on how it helps Mizzou and start looking at how it helps KState.

Eat a bag of Cocks cRusty, you don't go helping a school that you know is going to talk all kinds of $hit on K-State out on the recruiting trail, they'll play this out as the big SEC school helping out a little Big 12 school in the dying Texas 12.

mu is desperate to toss bones to a pissed off mu constituency in KC.

It can hurt K-State more than it helps K-State?  How much more money do you think this is going to make?   In the grand scheme, not that much more.

IT'S NOT JUST ABOUT MONEY YOU rough ridin' MORON

I liked how the Alabama game last year was basically a home game, except we could drink booze and then party it up at P&L.  I'd like to do that again.  I would also like to invite my MU friends to a game to watch us beat the hell out of the Tigers.  And then party it up at P&L.  We should do both.  Actually, can we move all high profile non-con home games to Sprint Center?

almost everyone but MU would require that we play a home and home or the equivelant (ie. KC and wherever garbage place in AL that we played).  MU is the only big name that we could play every single year in KC.  Well, I still hold out the tiniest amount of hope that we can get an NU basketball or football game in KC, probably not happening though.

As long as we have a game against someone at Sprint every year where we can fill the place and  at P&L afterwards it sounds like a good idea to me. (probably needs to be a top 75 program each year)

Let MU schedule their own deal for a couple years and watch them only put 8k-10k people in the place each time and then give up.  In 3 or 4 years we can have them back as an opponent there.

But I wouldnt be against playing them every year.

The basketball game at the sprint center is a great idea, I think we all know that as long as old balls roams the sidelines we won't play them in football.

play a home and home then.  kc would be our home game, a different regional venue could be our opponents.  the thread you were hanging onto at the beginning of this thread snapped a long time ago.

You would rather play in KC one out of every two seasons instead of every season as some sort of salve for your painful red butt over MU leaving?  Because that's what it sounds like.

"Tri-State Classic"

Permanent rotation between MU-KSU-MU featuring football and basketball. Yearly rotation featuring a FB game in Arrowhead and a BB game at Sprint Center.

Year 1: KSU vs MU in FB, MU vs NU in BB.
Year 2: KSU vs NU in FB, KSU vs MU in BB.
Year 3: MU vs NU in FB, KSU vs NU in BB.

I'd love it if K-State did this, and the rest of the teams in the Big 12 kicked you guys out of the conference.  K-State adds nothing to the Big 12 anyways.  Play Mizzou all you want while you wallow in the Mountain West.  oscar Weber is obviously just trying to appeal to the lowest common denominator, mouth breathing, KU hating K-State fans with this move, and it looks like a lot of posters on this board fall into that category.

Meh.

I'm over MU and NU leaving. I just think it would be fun to have chances to play both semi-regularly after having years of history with both. Don't really care about CU. Setting up something on a rotating basis in football and basketball seems like it could produce some revenue with a name sponsor and would be fun for the fans.

And I think the recruiting angle for either MU or NU is being way overplayed. I don't think playing either in KC would have much effect.

All that said, I don't think it will happen.

It would be glorious _FAN.  Having non-con rivals would be great for our school.  I've always kind of envied MU and IL with that.

The sad thing is that Frank Martin wouldn't even consider this.  The guy understood his fanbase and understood what it meant to be loyal to the Big 12.

Agreed. And why not do it with two schools you already have a long history with rather than trying to create one with someone else.

yeah.  Osborne and Bill are BFF already so I bet they could be talked into it.  Tom said something about wanting to schedule us eventually last season iirc.  With B-Dub now telling the media that we are working to schedule MU for hoops the iron has never been hotter.

His decision didn't have anything to do with loyalty.  It had everything to do with a pencil dick athletic director who micromanaged everything and pissed on Jamar Samuels.

I don't like Mizzou at all and I rough ridin' hate the fact that they left the conference but I have no problem with us playing them in basketball in KC.  eff, play em in football, too for all I care.   I would rather have WVU as our OOC rival but I guess Mizzou wil do, especially now that we all actually hate them as compared to the general malaise I felt previously.

mizzou has passed us in both sports.  that's the reality.  so why not take advantage of that and get some pub for playing them in an annual series?  stop getting your panties in a wad and taking their conference move so personally.

Because with Frank, KU and K-State were on the same page when it came to realignment and the future of the Big 12.  Now you guys are stuck with a guy who doesn't know anything about K-State's fanbase or K-State's history, and just wants to give the middle finger to KU and Bill Self because he's a butthurt loser who failed at Illinois.  Mizzou almost single-handedly destroyed the Big 12 and the whole KC area college sports scene as we know it, and now you clowns are trying to reward them for it.

Just goes to show that all that TSC stuff was a big lie.
