why give mu any more play in KC than they already get?   K-State can fill the Sprint Center on its own.

this is the right take.

no reason to let mu get any pub in KC.  let them try to drag a team into Sprint Center, but it shouldn't be us.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

If we played a truly elite school like Duke, Indiana, UCLA or Michigan State we'd still pak.

Missouri is a pretty shitty basketball program.

Mu's primary motive behind playing a semi-high profile game in KC is to keep a foothold in KC and maintain brand relevance amongst the three major schools in the market.

If K-State agrees to a game, we give them both.

F*ck them.

Call it butthurt or whatever, MU started this mess two years with their whoring to the Big 10. They nearly killed the conference a second time this past year when they abandoned the Big XII for the SEC.

So, now MU is feeling a little guilty for sh*tting on their fans from KC after making it abundantly clear St. Louis is their clear cut priority from an alumni perspective. And all the fans of theirs in KC are feeling a little alienated.

They want their cake and eat it too.

Again, eff them.

We can play our games in KC, hell play an annual KC classic with KU, bring in some high profile teams from from ACC or Big East, sell out Sprint, promote the sh*t out of the Big XII, appease our own fans, build our brand up, stay relevant, and do it by not playing a team we directly compete in the marketplace again.

We need to start looking out for our own best interests.  Kind of surprised so many are actually taking the other side here.  We can achieve the same thing and it doesn't have to involve placating Missouri.

Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008

Wabash, if they can't land slam dunk recruits like Darrell Johnson sp* (out of their own backyard) than they're mumped with recruiting anyways (They never offered, I'm going for edgy and cool).

I don't accept being pissed at MU for leaving so eff them as a legitimate argument for not scheduling them in KC every year.

Well eff your lack of acceptance SD.   :shakesfist:

Missouri historically has had trouble selling seats in KC when they were the headlining act.   I don't see any reason for K-State to help them facilitate a prime game (at least on a regional basis) so they can toss a bone to their KC alumni . . . of which many are not happy at now being on the far Western fringes of their new conference.   When in the past they were right in the heart of the Big 12 North/B-ball Tourney.

K-State can get a team of equal or better stature into KC and have a game where K-State is the primary focus.

a KSU/MU game in the noncon would almost certainly be on ESPN unless both teams suck for an extended period.  I have no idea on money, equal to or more than whatever we get playing N. Alabama, S. Miss or whatever other garbage team we've played in the past seems pretty safe to assume.

No, we can't. the UF game in Sprint won't get nearly the attention regionally or nationally that the MU game would. Yeah we might fill the arena but that doesn't mean dick.

Depends on who we play and good we and they are.   Not interested in helping Missouri out on any level, there have been times when really good Missouri teams have played in KC and barely drawn 8,000.   A game like this keeps them more relevant in KC, where Big 12 alumni bases as a collective will dwarf the the mu alumni base.

But, I expect nothing less from the TooCoolForSchool crowd.

Well, if we can get a guaranteed fixed appearance fee or a nice cut of the gate, I'm down.

This will not increase or decrease MU's "hold" on KC.  If we can get a nice cut from it, why not?

If we don't get a sweet cut, screw it.

You know UF won't get the interest an MU game next year would. And who the eff are we going to get better than UF you dipshit.

also, do not care if MU benefits from something that also benefits us a lot.
